I'm replaying all the Awakening games in order, half way through the second. I forgot that there were a lot of good puzzles in these games.

Haven't had a great deal of playing time but "Mystert Tales : The Hangman Returns" is a good game and I am really enjoying it 👍

After my successful re-play of the Edgar Allen Poe game - that got me past the dead end - I've decided to give The Black Veil another go now I was really enjoying it when I played it (absolutely ages ago) until I came up against a similar dead end. [I seem to remember I had opened a door before I had picked up a book (or something in that vein) and that was the end of that ] I'm nowhere near that point yet though as I've only just started playing and I know I was well into the game before the sudden halt.

Thanks, Marian !! Yes, oldbroad, I posted about the problem here at Gameboomers at the time and no one else (here, anyway) had experienced it. However, I DID experience it And it was a similar type of issue as happened with the Gold Bug game. I didn't do an action when I should have but wasn't allowed to go back and do it. The game just stopped entirely [And I found out what the action was afterwards from looking at the walkthrough.]

Clearly selection of the first word is pretty important and I see that adieu is popular although I have used audio ... and Pandora has just introduced me to to a tougher version for those who really want to torture themselves - Quordle https://www.quordle.com/#/

I got fed up with my re-play of The Black Veil. I'd forgotten just how many puzzles there are and how much thinking some of them require. And I'm really not in the mood So I'm playing my latest purchase "Bridge to Another World : Cursed Clouds" instead and the number of puzzles and their difficulty level are much more to my liking right now. It is a very nice play

Me too, Marian. And when there are LOTS of them as well, I get tired of them more quickly these days. I much prefer plenty of "story" instead !!

Oh, I don't have any such problems, oldbroad I think we also differ about "content" as you've said previously that the story is not a very important aspect for you whereas for me it's one of the key elements of a game. This is how things should be though otherwise we'd all just be sheep !!
