I'm not sure why you'd be placing your order now, given it's 6 years in the making and no release date available. I would highly recommend you wait for a release.

As a "backer" from all those years ago, I've stayed in contact (now and then) with the developers and received personal replies to my emails.

And I do feel hopeful they will release the game .... eventually.

Leeana, did you back the game years ago and forget or maybe pre-ordered it already? Not sure how else you would receive a backer update. I got the email update yesterday also.
