Yes, this game is from Dragonseye Studio, who also did the second Tearstone game. From their website: Out of Time is a puzzle adventure with unique and fun HO scenes. The team that worked on this are young people and this is their first project for Dragonseye.

Don't know if anyone has heard of this; it's gotten mixed reviews on BFG.
I'm stuck where you are supposed to cross a lake on ice. There's a tree that's about to fall, but I can't figure out how to do it. I have rope, a hook, gun power, a small cannonball, and a torch. Nothing works. It allows me to go to the next scene which shows a sled by 2 logs and tells me to slide the sled, which won't move.
Anyone got any ideas?
thanks
Life's a puzzle; one piece at a time.

Very unwise of the developers to have not included a skip option for that puzzle. Hopefully they will take note of the displeasure players experience with this. Having said that, a Big Fish reviewer had the following to say about this last puzzle: The end of the first part of the game has you fighting the bad guy and I actually got frustrated and left it for a day, but when I reread the instructions I found that on the medallions you just place the cursor on them and ride the medallion around the shape, rather than try to trace the shape with your mouse cursor. Could this possibly be the issue with this puzzle?

Well, the stubborn streak in me caused me to give it another go. (Several other goes actually) What I did: opened Control Panel, and went to Mouse properties. Changed the cursor speed several times until finding a setting that made it easier to be accurate. Also selected the "snap to grid" option. That also helped. The final change that allowed me to beat that first challenge was to un-check "Full Screen" and play it in a window. That made everything smaller; allowing for further precision. Whew! Got through the first phase. The next phase is the one you mention above. "Ride the medallion" sound easier than it is; but after multiple attempts, got through that too. The final phase is a "find the matching pairs" puzzle. Not hard to do; we're all used to those, right? Of course the objects couldn't just sit there; they get shuffled after each move. Still - a walk in the park compared to the first two struggles. I know I am babbling, but if the idea of changing the behavior of your mouse helps anyone else get through it, I'll be thrilled. I still wish they had hired me to correct their bad English, and constant incorrect spelling.
