Hi all: I found myself cleaning out a box in my computer room and found an old, clean looking, jewel cased version of "Drowned God." It came out in '95 (Yeah; I'm very much that old.) I have decided I'd like to play it again. Does anyone know if there is a compatibility mode or a possible adjustment that I could use to run the game on my newer computer running windows 10?
[ I forgot to add the game was originally set to run on Windows 95. ]

Hi, Haze. Since this is such an old game, I would just give it a try. About the only thing I could find in my searches was an installer for Windows 7 and Windows 10 in French.
By the way, great find!

Thanks for moving it to the proper location and for the info. Now I will need to find out what an “Emulator” is, and where to get one. Any ideas or suggestions? [Note: this is not the only twenty-year-old game that I found.]

An article about emulators can be found here.On my newer computers I have DOSBox installed, for example, which allows me to run old DOS games on my newer computers. There are also emulators whereby you can run early Windows 95 and Windows 98 games on your present computer. I am in the middle of a major snowstorm (with internet dropping out along with loss of power) and will look into Drowned God when I get a chance. In this instance, I think I found a custom installer for it. As I recall, Drowned God is a 16-bit program so it won't work if you just try to install it on a newer computer.

Ah, 16 bit will definitely require an emulator. The custom installer I found was in French, but instructions were given to run it in English.
I also noticed that Drowned God is one of those on the list at GOG for them to "tweak" for newer systems. They finally did it for the 16 bit Shivers 1 and I grabbed it as soon as it came out!

Man, they are proud of that game at $31! Thanks for that link though, oldbroad. I'd never heard of it.

Chris is very honest and reliable. I have bought from him since he first started offering "tweaked" games many years ago.
[Mostly when GOG was also "young" and didn't have an oldie I wanted.]
And, in my opinion, it's only right that he should be paid for his work.

I remember the installers Collector offered! I believe the one I used was for Grim Fandango.

Thanks to all of you for your knowledge and suggestions. Given my carefully maintained ineptitude with computers, that purchase site looks like it's right up my alley. The $31.00 jumped up at me too, but then I realized that I recently paid a dish-washer repair man $125.00 just to show up. It is definitely not 1995 any more, so if want to play the game (And I do) I'll spend the money. Thanks again for all the help.
