Springdale, Ark. – Feb. 2024 — Causeway Studios is excited to announce their debut game The Haunting of Joni Evers, releasing later this year. The game, taking place in the fictional town of Harvest, Oklahoma, offers an emotional tale of estranged family underscored by a malevolent, interdimensional haunting.
In The Haunting of Joni Evers, players are invited to explore the peculiar Cunningham House to uncover what’s going on between Joni and her family, while contending with a mystical presence intent on trapping Joni. Players must confront Joni’s past and examine her memories to unravel the mystery of what it is that truly haunts Joni Evers, before the night is over.
“This game is just the beginning.” says Greg Rogers, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Causeway Studios. “The Haunting of Joni Evers is the first installment in an anthology universe filled with memorable characters, compelling locales, and meaningful moments. All of these serve our goal of helping players find their places in our stories, to jump into the cockpit and take this wild ride alongside us.
“On the same note, this is just the beginning of what we hope will be an evergreen and sustainable indie studio. We’re a small team right now, yet look at what awesome art is already pouring out. Imagine what the Worlds Across the Causeway will look like five years from now. That excites me, and I hope it excites gamers and story-lovers everywhere as well.”
The game is a follow-up to the events of the short story Page A6 and is preceded by the events of the Aftermath series of vignettes. In this, The Haunting of Joni Evers becomes the first game entry in the Worlds Across the Causeway, the studio’s anthology universe of interconnected stories.
The Haunting of Joni Evers will release later this year for Windows and Mac. Interested parties can find out more and wishlist the game at
