I need to clean up my GOG cloud saves before they get deleted. That's fine and most of the game saves are ones I don't care about.
However, three of my games are games I want to pick up and continue at some point so I need to delete the older files and leave the newer ones. The problem is that I see no way to select multiple files at a time. That means that I need to delete literally THOUSANDS of files one at a time, which would take the better part of a day (or two).
Is there really no way to select multiple files on the GOG cloud, or am I missing something>

I've been deleting some of mine too to meet the 200MB limit, but I don't have that many, so one at a time was OK. I'm heading out to mow for a few hours and don't have time to check, but I would suggest GOG is your best resource for an answer. I did find this in a quick search at GOG... don't know if it addresses batch deleting or not. https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/ar...-remove-saves-from-the-cloud?product=gog

I found the following on a GOG forum from a number of years back. The question was is there a way to manage or delete all cloud saves. This answer was posted by a member of the GOG team: Please make a backup of your save files(default: C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Game Title).
Now you can launch the game, Alt+Tab out of it, manually move the files outside of the save directory, after you close the game the sync should also remove them from the server.
After doing the above, please log out of the Galaxy app. You might need to wait a while for the database to refresh and remove the files in the cloud. Starting the game again right after removing files might download them to your drive.

Thanks very much for that, Marian. And you, too, Draclvr. I've made a note of both Plus .... Today I went into Galaxy and un-installed any games that I haven't actually started - so hopefully that will suffice for now.

Now here is a strange coincidence. I just got this email from GOG. You guys will probably get the same email, but I will copy and paste it here anyway: We're reaching out to inform you that your Cloud Saves files that exceed the default allocation limit (200 MB per game) will be deleted after August 31st, 2024. Please review them to avoid the loss of files stored within your Cloud Saves available via GOG GALAXY. Saves stored locally on your computer(s) will not be affected. What are Cloud Saves? Cloud Saves are a way to create a copy of your game progress on our servers so that you maintain a seamless gaming experience across all your devices. If you’re using GOG GALAXY to download, update, or play your games, you’re likely using its Cloud Saves feature. Why are we limiting storage? As the size and number of games increase, so does the demand for Cloud Storage. These limits ensure that all players have access to sufficient and manageable space for their game progress, and that we keep the associated costs under control. By optimizing our storage allocation, we aim to continue providing a reliable and user-friendly platform for everyone. What to do if you don’t want to lose files? You may want to back up your Cloud Saves directly in GOG GALAXY first - here’s how: https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/ar...p;utm_source=salesmanago&product=gogOnce your save files are downloaded on your machine, login to GOG, open Cloud Saves Management, review your saved data and delete any unnecessary files or old saves.

Yeah, this is pretty new. From what I understand, the sheer volume of storage for all the games being played all over the world was getting much too huge. You can always choose to sync or not sync your games with the GOG cloud.

Mad, this seems to be like the best directions to disable cloud saves. I haven't tried it.
To disable cloud saves in GOG GALAXY, follow these steps for the specific game: Select the game in GOG GALAXY. Click on the customization button next to Play. Select Manage Installation → Configure. Disable the cloud saves feature and confirm with OK.
Alternatively, you can uninstall the GOG Galaxy client if you don't need it to access your games.

Thanks again, Draclvr 🙂
I think I did exactly that several weeks ago - when I decided to un-install a couple of games - before this notice from GOG was even sent out !! 😑
But I’ll add it to my notes all the same 👍

I wish Steam cloud saves were that easy to delete!
