I'm trying to post a scathing review of my new fridge on Costco.com, but I need to disable my ad blockers in order to do that.

I've looked at the Extensions on my browser and the only thing that comes up in Malwarebytes. I've disabled all the functions i see there, but I'm still not able to post so there must be something else I'm not seeing.

Any ideas? I've checked all of my apps I see no separate ad blocker, so I'm really at a loss.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

What browser are you using? I do use Adblock Plus, but when I click on Extensions in Edge it's listed. My Malwarebytes does not show up there because it's a separate program, not an extension. Is this your Windows 11 laptop?

I did find this in a web search:

Quote
Okay, first check the Chrome and Edge browser extensions, see if you have any ad blocker extensions, then disable the Chrome/Edge Blocker itself

1. In the upper right corner, click More More and Settings.
2. Click Privacy & Security and Site Settings.
3. Click More Content & Ad Settings.

Select Block ads.

I didn't find any of the things to click on like he said. But in Edge, I did click on Settings and then Privacy, Search and Services. Then I had to scroll down to find the Security heading and there was a switch I could turn off "Block unwanted apps." I don't know if that's the same thing. The original poster who asked the question said the same thing. He didn't find the same path either. His question was titled, "New Windows 11 PC - sites say I am using adblocker- I didn't install one?" Over 50 people said they had the same question. Still looking for an answer though...

Found that someone sent to that Privacy, Search and Services setting and it was set to strict. They changed to balanced and the problem was gone.

And I'm curious - why do you hate your new refrigerator!?

I'm afraid I can't help with the ad block problem.

But as I recall it the fridge wasn't very friendly and didn't even say hello to Hagatha.
Maybe you shouldn't be too hard on the fridge. At least it does keep things cool.

Draclvr, my security is already set to Balanced. I guess I'll have to find another site to post a review. I have also contacted the manufacturer.

The new fridge is very nice-looking, it has good features and they work, and all in all it would be fine -- except that one of its main selling features is the claim that it is counter-depth, and that was one of the main considerations when I chose it.

And it is . You can push it right in to the wall, and it is, indeed, counter-depth. The problem is that once you've done that the doors won't open because they forgot to design the fridge with the proper hinges to allow the doors to open out and around the edges of the counters! Consequently, the fridge has to stick out even more than my old, non-counter depth fridge did.

Well, THAT'S unacceptable! You purchase something for a specific feature and then find a design flaw that makes the feature worthless!

Yes. And returning it would be a logistical nightmare.

The fridge may be Smart, but the designers certainly weren't.
