Excellent!!. I have been waiting for your announcement. I've been in contact with Microids, an email and discussions, within a month and a half now with no word on a demo until the 11th. I was hoping Microids would come through and they did. Thank you Ana. Excellent videos The Making of and More

Orion, Microids sent me a press release awhile ago letting us know the demo was coming today along with other games they have going. I prefer waiting till day of, to announce. As someone who deals with Publishers and Developers on a daily basis, I can assure you that nagging them causes most to retreat than consider it a sign to do more.

I downloaded and played the demo. It is, as we all thought it would be, absolutely gorgeous. Even the simple few minutes of the original game's "Mailman " start is full of beautiful and entertaining additions. My only problem was that once I picked the mail out of the box I was done. Is the demo simply that short? (That is not a complaint. It is simply a question. I wanted to play more and have already starred my calendar for the 5th.)

As 'The Haze' noted above, the game is gorgeous but would like to ask...What is "the 5th" Haze? Also there was a lot more to the Demo I played than just removing the Mail from the box as you stated above. The whole Lighthouse is explorable at least it was for me until I decided that I had seen enough and quit so as to not spoil the surprise when the whole game releases, One thing to make note...I could not Save in the Demo so I guess you either have to complete the Demo in one sitting or start over again each time you quit.
And one very unusual thing happened with my playing Demo and its really weird... Every time I played the game it affected my computers Battery Backup as its alarm would constantly sound for either a malfunction or the battery needs replacing. The alarm would sound the whole time I would play the Demo and immediately turn off and return to normal operation the moment I quit the game....strange indeed. Hope this oddity doesn't happen with the full game release.

Thanks for the response. My demo is either different from yours, or I have a glitch somewhere. I couldn't get out the "Mail examination" mode after I got the mail.. I couldn't get through the gate, let alone into the lighthouse. As for "Th 5th", I failed to realize that it would perhaps appear as an alcohol reference. It's not. Steam has stated that the game will be available for sale on November 5th. Thanks again

A brief follow-up: Greyfuss and I do NOT have different demos; nor do I have a glitch. I am simply stupid. I took the time to complete the examination of the letter, got out of screen, and then could wander, open the gate and enter the lighthouse. One place where Greyfuss and I do differ, my installation of the demo also installed an icon on my desktop. I can start the demo from my desktop just like any other game.

I played up to the point where and decided to quit. I selected to go to the main menu but was immediately kicked back to the desktop. Now when i try to start it again, all I get is a Microids logo screen and that's as far as it gets. There are reports on the Steam forum of being dumped to the desktop at various different points. One never even made it into the building, and another got further than I did. I could probably have gotten further had I not decided to quit.

Uncle Reg: I played to exactly the same spot, and learned things. First, since I didn't read it the first three times, I didn't realize that the demo has no save feature. You start at the very beginning every time (It states that fact very clearly in the paragraph on the page where you adjust the Gamma.) Next, I too played to exactly the point where the old explorer dies and then quit. When I began again, I went through the entire initial process with no problem, but when I got to the ole man's office where I quit before, he was gone. It didn't seem to matter and played on until the actual end of the demo. FYI; when you reach the end of the demo, the game very clearly tells you you've reached the end. If it hasn't told you, you aren't done. To repeat, if you quit before the end is announced, you will have to start all over. [Note; Greyfuss told me this a while ago, but I ignored him until I learned, again, that he was correct.]

What a beautiful game I made it to the lighthouse looked around then went upstairs only to get kicked out to the desktop after clicking on a key. Many seem to be experiencing the same at different times - Discussions. They are working on the issue. Keep an eye on the UpdatesEDIT: I started the game again "left click holding" to skip all that I had already been through. I was able to get that key this time. When I used it on the demo ended

I plugged the Win 11 into our big screen so my wife could take a look. It has been awhile since we have played a computer game together this way. I knew she would be interested because the original Amerzone was her favorite game. When the demo came to an end, no issues this time, she looked at me and said "I love it, that was good! When can we play it?" I told her hopefully November. Having played it twice now I believe this remake could go down in adventureland history as one of the best remade adventure games of all time, we'll see

Enjoyed the demo. An interesting combination between 3D/360-POV and click-to-move. In other words, player has to click on a direction to move in, but once the game "moves" you in that direction and your "move" stops, you can 360-scroll around in your view. I asked online about the full-game save feature and, sadly (and as is often the case): only one auto-save each game (but 3 slots for others to play in, I guess?). I play games on my own so the multiple "game" slots don't matter to me. But dang it I sure wish game DEVs would provide multiple SAVE slots so players can replay certain scenarios, or load a favorite scenery spot in the game to enjoy later. The DEVs said the full game will have chapter replays (that's good) but only one save for the entire game, and the game auto-saves at different points. SO if I can't sit at my PC for more than a half hour or an hour at a time, and get to a point where I need to quit...if I haven't progressed to the next auto-save point ? I'm out of luck if I have to quit, back to the last auto-save point I go. There are numerous big-money as well as INDIE games that provide multiple save slots; I'm miffed that after all this time, so many DEVs can't program in multiple save slots for their games. I guess because so many of these "one-save-slot" games are console ports?...I don't know. Maybe it's a cost thing. Too bad. I'll probably still buy the game (Amerzone was one of my favorites); the demo showed a great deal of work and attention to detail. It looks and plays beautifully. But no multiple save slots in the FULL game. Argh :-)

That "formula" for saving is a deal breaker for me. I just don't have that kind of uninterrupted time and replaying something over and over is SO annoying.
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Maybe that is just a coincidence, but somehow I doubt it.

Sweet, TY!
Playing the demo, it is gorgeous. A great remake so far!
As a small comment, I don't like the middle mouse back function...

Microids has gotten back to me on the save issue I was curious about myself. Here is what I asked and their response: 1.How many "manual save game slots" are there going to be?
2. Are there going to be any auto saves? If so when will they take place? Will they overwrite the manual saves or will they have their own auto saves slot/s - how many?
3. Will there be chapter saves? Their response: Thanks for your questions, here are some answers for you,
1. There won't be "manual" saves in the game, only autos. 3 slots.
2. A lot of auto saves, we made so that the time interval between 2 auto saves does not go higher than 5 minutes.
3. There will be chapter saves once you finish the game once, so that you can gather missed elements during your first experience of the game.
No manual saves. At least the auto saves aren't too far apart for quitting the game. It does not make sense having auto saves every 5 minutes for 3 slots. I've asked if they are gonna write over one another every 5 minutes, how are these auto saves gonna take place with 3 slots EDIT: Those 3 slots may be for 3 players each having their own slot
It's never too late!
