Hi Guys, I need a bit of help, I downloaded the game from Steam, and have been playing it for over 6 hours with no issues, until last night I loaded the game as normal but there is no sound, I have looked through the Steam forum and someone else has got the same issue, but like me are unable to resolve the sound problem, anyone on here had the same problem

While I do some searching for you, have you gone into the sound settings in the game to see if anything is amiss there? Have you checked the sound settings on your computer... sometimes mine will switch off my bluetooth speakers or lower the sound volume? Have you tried rebooting your computer?

I’ve checked everything and done a reboot, while was looking on Steam for a solution to the problem and as mentioned I did find someone else had the same issue, but I looked for it again today to see if there was any replies but I couldn’t find the post again 😢

I see this post here but there are no replies as yet.

safc, I found your post too. I might suggest you change the title of the post to include "sound issues" or something like to identify your issue. I have searched everywhere and have not found anything other than going into your computer's sound settings to be sure the correct output is selected and sound mixer isn't muted. I don't have the game, so I can't know if changing any of the sound settings in the game menu will work. You might try doing a Google search for your issue... I found several You Tube videos, but they were for doing what you already said you have done.

I have checked all my setting and everything is correct, I installed another game from my library in Steam and the sound is fine on that game, I have just purchased the same game from GOG for £2.29 which is $2.93 and I am presently installing it, once installed I will see there are any issues with that one. I also found the other post I mentioned in a prior post, the solution again was to check all setting on the PC as steam do not have any sound setting for the games they have, it suggested contacting the Games Support Team, which I am now looking for. Many thanks for your help. The game has just finished installing and the sound is as it should be, so I think there is definitely an issue with the Steam version

Hi Guys
Back again, I spent most of tonight trying to resolve the sound issue with this game, I got as far as finding a contact link for the games support team, but after registering to the site to get access it just passed me back to the Steam Community Chat Room, so it look like a dead end with this game, I don't even its worth getting a refund as it was less than £2.00, I still feel let down by the lack of support from steam and the game provider

An update on my sound issue, the Game Support Team have provided me with a load of different options to try in resolving my issue all of which have been unsuccessful, the last option they have given me is to carry out a full fresh install which I think is a bit of a drastic measure, and in my case, it will mean a lot of time reinstalling all my present programmes, and this again might not resolve the issue, so it looks like the game will stay in my Steam Library uncompleted, the only saving grace is that it was only a couple of pounds(dollars)

I have started playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider and fingers crossed have not encountered any issues yet

Well, shucks. I hoped they had something that would help. I don't understand though, why a fresh install would cause you to reinstall other games?

to safc: Re: Fresh install? Is the company telling you to Fresh install your entire Windows system? or Just a Fresh install of your game?

Thanks Draclvr for your support and backup, but it is just me or is it the way safc said it that the Company wanted safc to do a complete re install of the Windows system, sorry Drac. but at my age I get confused very often.

Starcom, I've got a few years on you and I was confused too! That's why I said I was puzzled why he would have to reinstall programs. Hopefully safc will illuminate us tomorrow!

Sorry for the confusion but this is what they suggested "We would like you to know that we have suggested all the basic audio troubleshooting steps that might have resolved your sound bug. As it is caused by a conflict between the game and Windows audio drivers, the only workaround would be to reset your Windows or do a fresh reinstall. This will ensure all drivers are reset to their original state." and the way I read this was to basically wipe my pc and reinstall windows again. At present I have shelved the game as they could not resolve my sound issue. Once again many thanks for all your help

While not really clear, that DOES seem to be what they have suggested. That would be a hard NO for me and I agree with shelving the game. It's not an unknown bug, so you'd think the developer might have fixed it.
