Haarlem, The Netherlands, December 11th, 2024 - The creative duo behind the indie sensation Strange Horticulture, are back with the gameplay reveal for their latest project: Strange Antiquities. Get a first in-depth look at the mechanics in the enchanting standalone sequel promising to whisk players back to the shadowy, rain-soaked alleys of Undermere, but this time with a new store and deeper mysteries to uncover.

Set in a cozy, candlelit shop dealing in arcane artifacts, Strange Antiquities places players in the shoes of an apprentice Thaumaturge. As the apprentice, you'll identify and catalogue strange items, assist the locals, and navigate the intricate web of secrets in Undermere—all whilst accompanied by Jupiter, the shop’s ever-purring feline.

Note from the Dev:
“We wanted to build on the ideas we explored in Strange Horticulture,” says Rob. “This time, we’re adding new layers of detective work that add more variety and new challenges. We’re excited to hear what you think of this sneak peek!”

“Attention to detail is key in Strange Antiquities,” John adds. “There are often more clues than first meets the eye. With keen observation you’ll be uncovering the secrets of Undermere in no time.”

New Features in Strange Antiquities:

Closer Inspect System: Examine items up close—feel textures, observe details, and detect hidden properties. Is the artifact radiating cold? Or does it evoke an ominous sense of dread?
Expanded Library of Esoteric Tomes: Delve into volumes such as the Guide to Occult Objects, the Book of Symbols, and the Gemstone Compendium to solve puzzles and decode cryptic meanings.
Enhanced Detective Work: Hone your skills as you solve intricate puzzles, discern between similar artifacts, and navigate the fine line between curative and dangerous items.
A Richer World to Explore: Discover new maps, encounter a fascinating cast of characters, and unravel a dark, overarching mystery.
Bad Viking’s signature blend of atmospheric storytelling, intricate gameplay, and cozy-yet-foreboding vibes remains at the heart of Strange Antiquities. Fans can look forward to exploring a world brimming with dark mysteries, occult knowledge, and fascinating characters.

Happy Gaming!

Great, Ana! I have the first game from GOG and am looking forward to it. This one should be good too.
