I bought it, kept getting an error code, so asking for a refund.

I would report this to Bill (the game designer) about this before I asked for a refund. Just click on "contact" at the top of this page here. I think he would want to know about this.

Thanks, Marian. I sent Bill a message. I downloaded his other game and it installed. I redownloaded Last Half of Darkness and noticed it didn't install. So now I know why it's not playing but I don't know how to fix it.

PS. I found the file but there is no .exe to do an install.

You could also leave a message in the Steam forum for the game, outlining your difficulty.

When are you getting this error code, starting up the game? Do you by chance remember what that "error code" said if anything

I take it you uninstalled the game through "Programs and Features" before trying to reinstall it?

If you are still having a problem explain in detail what problem/s you are having trying to install/run the game on their discussions board. WRF Studios is busy here coming back with comments to inquiries. You will find "View discussions" on the lower right side of LH of D page. To start a thread you have to be logged in

If you have an antivirus installed this could cause an issue with running the game. Windows Defender Firewall, if turned on, could be giving you a hard time as well. Mine is on and I had no issues with it installing and running. It's not a good idea turning firewall off!

I did have an issue at the beginning of game. It was straightened out within an hour. The issue was on me not the game

It just says "fatal error!". The game downloads but it doesn't install.

Do you have a antivirus installed on your computer? If so which one, it may be halting the install

I have Trend Micro. I turned off a lot of it, including the firewall. Tried downloading the game again and still no install.

You can give this a try. Go ahead and turn your Windows Defender Firewall off, if that's not the firewall you were talking about, then see if you can get the game to install and run. If so quit the game and then turn the firewall back on and go back into the game and see if it still runs. It should if the install went through

Other then that unless someone else has ideas I would refund the game and purchase it again giving it another try

Turned off the windows defender firewall. Still won't install. I give up.

When was the last time you installed a Steam game. I would try to install a game you once had installed just to make sure there are no issues your computer or this Steam download. It's just a thought

I did that with the other Last Half of Darkness game and Syberia 3, they installed after downloading. Thanks though.

I would post in the Steam discussion board as Orion suggested earlier. Bill seems to look there at least daily. I posted something there last night and received a reply today.

TLC, did you check the Quarantined Files in your Trend Micro program? Thinking about this some more, that has happened to me with my Norton removing the .exe file.

You might be right about that oldbroad. That exe file is not there. I was thinking with TLC having turned off a lot of Micro Trend including the firewall the game should have installed but still did not. I ran into the same issue as you that was solved here. When I allowed the exe file with McAfee the game downloaded and ran. It was just another false quarantine we get at times. I should have mentioned that but did not TLC having turned firewall off. I hope your suggestion is the solution, wouldn't that be nice

McAfee, under 'My Protection", has a "Quarantined" section where that exe file was listed. It is now allowed in "My Protection" IN "Advanced Firewall"

Well I tried everything last night, nothing worked. Steam just refunded the game.
