Mad, that sounds like a fairy book even with all the lack of "facilities!" I have similar vivid memories of when I was only two years old. I know because it was before my sister was born and I was 2 1/2. One is getting out of my crib and going outside one spring morning and my mom was already hanging clothes on the clothesline. She was pregnant with my sister and I remember hearing Meadowlarks. To this day, the song of a Meadowlark is my favorite birdsong!
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Good Morning connie, Fogfighter, soot, Draclvr, hagatha, Marian, oldbroad, Mad, Judith, and everyone. Wide Awake Double Dark Brew is ready to start your day! Hagatha it sounds like a lovely time for you and your mom to spend together. Mad it is amazing the vivid memories we recall from our childhood. Hope the weather improves for everyone today. Some pretty scary stormy weather everywhere lately. It's going to be a rainy day here...a good day to get ready for my daughter's visit this weekend. Enjoy your day everyone! Gerry

Good morning Fogfighter, Connie, Gerry, Draclvr, Mad, OldBroad, Marian, Judith and all who get the chance to pop in. Wow Mad, what a fond memory indeed. I still have a similiar memory of my paternal grandparents house and property in Cornwall-on-Hudson (river) in New York. It was a gigantic mansion that I explored inside and out as a 4 year old from the basement to the attic. I got the chance to revisit their home 40 years later on a business trip only to discover it was actually a very small home...but I still have my memories. I'm with you Gerry and hope everyone's weather improves. Time for WADDB and bagels. Have a wonderful Thursday everyone.

Good Thursday afternoon! I posted this morning, but it seems to have disappeared!
I visited the old farmhouse in Iowa where I grew up and couldn't believe how small it felt. I practically lived in the barn and the hayloft and it was such a small barn compared to what it felt like when I was little!
Tornados and awful weather all around us yesterday, but we just got rain thankfully,
League bowling tonight and then I have to go down to the horse rescue and do the night closing. I will be doing it for the next week every night.
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Happy Thursday.
Did a bit of yard work today -- sprayed the weeds in my gravel parking area with acetic acid, cleaned up some leaves, ordered some new cushions for my deck furniture as the existing ones smell like mold. My pond is definitely in need of a good clean. I need to a new spray bottle this year, so it's time for a trip to Canadian Tire for supplies.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
