One of my kitchen lights has burned out and I'm trying to take it apart but the last piece cannot be unscrewed with any kind of screwdriver.

What it needs is those little L-shaped doodads that are like tiny screwdrivers but they have a five-sided edge. You get them with furniture kits like IKEA. I cannot for the life of remember what they're called and I need to get one.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Is it an Allen Key you need?

Quantity has a quality all of its own

Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

I have moved this thread over to Mixed Bag, as the question is not related to computer hardware or software. wave

That's it -- an Allen key! And it's six-sided, so a Hex Key.

Cheers!

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

It's infuriating that the light fixture needs one of those, when they could just as easily have used a regular screw.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Fogfighter, I need to remember that word!! We keep a set of all sizes of Allen wrenches around just in case we run into one of those infuriating things! I agree...

I also have a load of allen keys in different sizes, often supplied with an item that needed adjusting/tightening, and also a set of star shaped keys (no idea what they are called) which can be even more elusive... duh
