Hi TLC, when I googled your question I got this reply: No, pre-ordering on Steam generally does not guarantee a cheaper price than buying on release day. While pre-orders may offer pre-order bonuses like early access or exclusive content, the price of the game itself is usually the same whether you pre-order it or wait for the release. I tend to buy more from GOG than I do Steam, so I don't have a lot of personal experience with this. Other folks here should be able to answer your question, though, based on their own experience.

TLC, I have right now a pre-purchase discount showing for Amerzone but it is a Bundle discount. If you are interested in a game and put it on your wishlist, if there is any special something or other, you will then be notified. If you then decide never to buy the game you can just remove it. I have the game Amerzone The Explorers Legacy in my wishlist but I don't see any bundle discount.

It's bundled with Syberia: The World Before which is already in my library. It's a 10% discount, not on the games by themselves, but bundled together. I love the Steam bundles. Thanks, ob. I already have Syberia The World Before (played it twice in a row  ). I'll probably buy the new Amerzone, when it's released.
