Good morning everyone.

Finally got my tax package together and am off to courier it to the accountant. After that, Dude goes in for his annual checkup and shots.

My mother had both her hips done in the same 6 months. She was 80 at the time, and recovered very fast. I myself am experiencing some rather nasty knee issues right now; if I crouch the wrong way my knee immediately starts hurting enough that I limp for a couple of days. Not a good sign.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Hands up! it's weekend. As the Germans say. But it sounds better in German.

Meanwhile there are emergency rations of instant coffee and knäckebröd available in the Break Room

Happy Friday Gameboomers.

Good Morning soot, connie, Draclvr, hagatha, Fogfighter and everyone! Wide Awake Double dark Brew is on and ready to start your day! wave

Soot it sounds like you have a full "retirement"schedule! Isn't it amazing how much there is to do and maintain in retirement! Draclvr keep us posted on hubby and if surgery is in the picture for his other knee. Hagatha hope the knee is feeling better today...have you had issues before?

Its raining with a little snow mised in this morning...no sunshine here today. smirk

Hope you all have a sunny day! spring

Good morning Connie, Gerry, Fogfighter, Space Quest Fan, Hagatha, Draclvr and all that follow. Got a little more rain last night, just a half an inch but that's better than none! Groceries are on my docket today but first I'm going to relax with a cup of WADDB, knäckebröd and a bagel.
Have a wonderful day everyone. [Linked Image]

Good Friday morning! Indeed, it sounds better in German, Fogfighter! Hände hoch, das Wochenende ist da!

Rainy, cloudy and cold here today. Still no work outside... Grrr...

That doesn't sound good for your knee, hagatha. My right one is getting worse, but I'm going to rely on some steroid injections for awhile. So far, I'm still able to clock at least 2 miles most every day without pain. Hubby's doctor said he wants to see more stability in his knee before he does the second one. I had told him a couple of weeks ago he needed to continue his exercises, but he didn't think he needed to as he's moving around and doing some work. But his doctor agreed with me as he's lost some degree of movement. My mom had both her hips done when she was 80 and they were a breeze compared to the knees.

With a dreary day ahead, now what shall I play?

Good Friday morning, everyone.

Draclvr, my knee hurts like blazes for a few hours, then I just limp for a day, and then it's pain-free two days later. Very strange. It's making my garage cleanup impossible, as I would have to crawl around in my crawl space with boxes. My neighbour across the road says he uses a little cart to move around in his 3 foot crawl space and offered to lend it to me, so maybe I can do that for stowing things down there.

It's a lovely day. I have to go into town this morning but later I'll go for a walk with a neighbour.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Hagatha, mine is the same way. X-rays show both knees to be bone-on-bone with the right one the worst. My favorite tool in the world is my garden kneeler bench. I can sit on it to pull weeds or work, or turn it over and kneel on it. The legs are then used to help me get up.

Thanks, Draclvr. I'll see if they have one of those in our local Home Hardware Store. Because I'm doing so much Pilates I have no trouble standing from a crouch or from a seated position, but just having something to kneel on would be good when I'm doing certain kinds of work.

Good Morning Fogfighter, connie, soot, Draclvr, hagatha and everyone! Wide Awake Double Dark brew is ready! wave

Draclvr my daughter's hubby did the same thing after his knee surgery...stopped the exercises once he could get around...doctor told him the same thing he needed to continue the exercises before doing the other knee.

Knee issues seem to be the worst as we age...everything starts wearing out! crazy

Have a great day everyone! spring

Good Saturday morning! Biscuits and gravy with bacon and eggs served and not it's time to sit down with a cup or two of WADDB.

I'm the same way, hagatha - no problems getting up and down anywhere but from my knees. That's why I love that bench. I still think of when I fell on the ice and had nothing anywhere to help me get up! Had to crawl over to a few pieces of grass to give one foot a little traction, but I got myself up! Must have been quite a sight!

Gerry, all I can say is... MEN! I think of how people in previous generations didn't have the option of getting new knees or hips or cataract surgery. They just went blind or couldn't get around any more.

Temps supposed to edge up to the upper 60's today, so off to the flower beds I am! I really should have everything mulched this year, but there's really no point. The chickens just destroy it and spread it everywhere I don't want it.

Good morning, everyone.. It's a lovely morning, sunny but cold. Good day for a walk.

Draclvr, the knee in question is one that was severely hurt about 15 years ago, when I slipped on a patch of ice outside my office, landed squarely on my knee, tore my suit open, and struggled until somebody came and helped me up. The bone was exposed, and I had to have many stitches. There's a nasty scar. It was probably inevitable that I would have issues with it later in life.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Yup, pretty much guaranteed that would be the knee to give you trouble later in life.

Good Sunday morning! Another nice sunny day ahead. I already have a load of laundry going and will head back out to work in the flower beds shortly.

I did a nice flank steak on the grill yesterday. That cut can be tough, so I marinated it all day. It turned out really good and there are leftovers!

Good Sunday afternoon Draclvr, Connie, Fogfighter, Gerry and everyone. Chores and projects completed for the day with a quick grocery run thrown in for tomorrow morning's breakfast. Enjoying sunshine and a balmy 73 degrees this afternoon. Enjoyed Gerry's wide awake double dark brew, Fogfighter's emergency use knäckebröd and then Connie's bagels earlier today. Time to relax for the remainder of the day. We love to grill flank steak Draclvr and marinate the same. Hope you were able to sneak in a walk today Gerry.
Wishing you all a fantastic afternoon and evening! [Linked Image]
