Thursday. Great to start with WADDB to brace for what's to come

Today, skärtorsdag in Swedish, the Witches are roaming wild and may come knocking on your door.
Fortunately they tend to be 5 yo nowadays and happy to leave you in peace when given candy.

Happy Skärtorsdag everyone. witch

Good morning Connie, Fogfighter, Gerry, Draclvr, Hagatha, Marian and all that follow. Yes Gerry got those chores done yesterday...and will follow suit today too. But before I tackle them today it's time to enjoy another cup of wide awake double dark brew with a bagel or two. Happy Skärtorsdag Fogfighter.

Have a wonderful day everone wave

Good Thursday morning! Woke up to thunder and a nice rain which we really needed. It was so dry when I was working in the perennial beds. No sun here!

Gerry, you have reminded me that I need to reschedule my dental cleaning. I had to cancel my January appointment when hubby had COVID.

Fogfighter, that sounds like our Halloween!

League bowling tonight.

Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Good morning everyone,

Fogfighter, That sounds like your version of Halloween.

It's another beautiful morning. Looks as though we're about to have a long stretch of nice weather.

I must take a trip up to Campbell River sometime this month, before the tourists arrive. John always wanted his ashes to be put in the ocean across from the Cape Mudge lighthouse on Quadra Island. I didn't have the heart to do it before, but it's time. There's a nice spot next door to our old holiday condo, right across the Passage from the lighthouse, which will be perfect. I'll just time it for low tide. Everything goes through the Passage; all the whales and boats and the dolphins, and the tides there are fierce. It will be exactly right for him.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Indeed they are. However they were absent this year so I guess I have to eat the candy myself. But sometimes some late one arrive on the weekend instead. Indeed the tradition is similarish to Halloween. And over here it's the older tradition. The Halloween thingie started just a couple of decades ago in my country.

Good Friday morning!

Well, they are finally here - my resident flock of hummingbirds is starting to arrive. I've had travelers going through for a couple of weeks now, but these are the little birds that stay here and nest all summer. I can tell it's them because they buzz my head and fly back and forth from the feeders to the lilac bushes. The travelers just grab a feeding and move on. Sugar is even more expensive this year and I'm sure it's going to go up even higher, so they are not going to be cheap to feed this summer.

We are going out to a nice local restaurant to celebrate our 25th anniversary tonight.

Good morning Connie, Gerry, Fogfighter, Space Quest Fan, Mad, Draclvr, Hagatha and everyone. Hagatha, I think that will be a beautiful and meaningful memory for you. I know it won't be easy...I'll be thinking of you. Enjoy your candy Fogfighter...I do the same with our leftover candy! Enjoy your walk Gerry. Hope bowling went well Draclvr; we don't have our resident Hummers yet, just travelers headed North. I'm enjoying a cup of WADDB and a bagel before I hit the road for groceries and errands.

Wishing you all a wonderful day wave

Good morning everyone,

I wish I could put my feeders out but I'm afraid Dude is a bit of a hunter and so I don't dare add to the risk. I do have a wild currant bush in the back, and the hummingbirds do feed on the flowers on my shrubs, so there is some food, but not the kind of attraction a feeder would have.

It's another lovely day. I'm off to Pilates and then a walk with my neighbour.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Saturday morning! Hubby's big breakfast done and it's time to enjoy a cup of coffee while I listen to the birds outside.

We had thunderstorms all night, but just nice rumbles and some rain. Glad to have the rain, but no work outside for me today!

Caught up on laundry and floors are mopped and vacuumed... Hmm... whatever shall I play today! Thinking it will be some Skyrim.

Good morning Marian, Connie, Gerry, Fogfighter, Space Quest Fan, Mad, Draclvr, Hagatha and everyone.
Hagatha have you considered tall garden shepard hooks to hang hummingbird feeders outside of Dude's curiosity range? Grocery shopping completed this morning and now it's time to relax.

Happy Saturday everyone wave

Happy Saturday to you all! It's a gloomy day here, inside and out.

I decided on two recipes to try this week but my brother mis-understood something on my list and I am missing an ingredient that goes in both of the recipes. He'll pick it up another day but meanwhile, I have other produce depending on it that my not hold up.

Nothing else to say duh .

Enjoy the day!
