It was an absolutely beautiful day yesterday, the first day warm enough to sit outside and have a cup of tea. I put out the indoor/outdoor carpet and set up the lawn furniture, mowed the lawn and did a general tidy-up out there. I was going to wash my car today but now it's pouring. Good day to spend gaming and watching Squid Game 2.

Good Sunday morning! Heading into town for Easter dinner with step-son and DIL and her family. Looks like the rain may stop just in time.

Good Monday morning! I think it might have actually stopped raining... rain gauge said we got over 4" of rain over the last few days. The river is out of it's banks again, but there shouldn't be any flooding.

And warm! It's going to be warm! I guess I'll be back out working of perennial beds...

Good morning everyone,

Willow just had her in-home mani/pedi with the vet-tech, so her grizzly claws are nice and blunt for another month. The vet tech charges about 1/4 of what the vet would charge in-office, and she comes to my house. Win/win.

Looks like it's going to rain again today, so I guess I'll do some garage tidying and set up my boxes of recycling for my trip to Campbell River; there's a a huge recycling depot up there, and strangely, there isn't one here, although Nanaimo District has a much larger population base. Every time I go to CR I take all the recycling that isn't part of the regular weekly pick-up, like Styrofoam and glass and old electronics. Also, the Hospice Society in CR has a thrift store where I take all my old clothes and other stuff I don't want.

It is a busy week for me. Had the plumber here yesterday to replace the on/off leaking valve and pipe connection to the toilet...he had to make a hole in the wall and remove a 4 inch tile...now I have to have the hole fixed! While he was here I noticed the water heater is starting to leak at the bottom so he will be back today to replace it...old house always in need of repair!

Good Tuesday morning! Heading up to 80 degrees today. I'd be happy to send some of this rain your way, Connie! I hope that doesn't predict a hotter than usual summer down there.

My friend and I are going to try again to take my little truck over to the plant nursery in the next town this afternoon. Last Tuesday it was raining - again! Depending on when her money runs out, we're going to stuff the back with shrubs for her newly landscaped back yard.

One thing this rain has accomplished is that I can pick about a pound of fresh asparagus every other day!
