Hi ! I've got win 98 & win ME -- tried to get this game to work in both - When I got the game it came with NO info-- it installs but I can't get the screen to go to the prompt (dgate) to play -- it keeps saying not found.... Anyone have an old manual around to help? I've tried via windows explorer too and no files there to help soooo HELPPPPP!!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="confused.gif" />

Just loaded it in - did you use Setup to install the game?

Hi Syd! Yes -- I've installed it via dos -- gone through the setup-- it tells me to enter dgate at C: prompt -- but when I try to trip it C:- enter dgate-- it says not found or invalid etc-- What I need to see and can't find- usually there is already something like C:DGATE\-- and at that point I would put dgate and game should play -- I can't get it to that part - What am I missing???

Hi blondie - try this :
Click on My computer and then your c drive - find a folder called Dgate - click on it - find the icon that has Dgate underneath it (mine was on the first row of files) right click - scroll down to "make a shortcut to desktop" click to send a shortcut to your desktop - close out the file - go to your desktop and you should see a new icon - called MSDOS Shortcut to Dgate - click on that and you should be in the game.

Hi Syd -- tried your suggestion -- I get an error "cro unavailable" -- I'm trying to install on winME -- don't know if that has anything to do with it or not .....

Hi blondie - it could be winME - I installed it on W98 and had no problems at all. Can you try the same method on your W98 machine?

I don't notice you putting the back-slash ( \ ) after the C: Could this maybe be why it doesn't take???

Hmmm.. I wonder if cro unavailable means CD-ROM unavailable. What drive is your CD-ROM on? Games like these expect Cd-ROMs to be on D drive.
Here we go again! Here we go go go!

I've given up on DeathGate for the time being -- lots of other games to catch up on. One website told me it can't BE played on ME so will wait till I'm on the road again and using laptop. Not many of my newer games will play on it cause it's an older one and not big nuff. =-(
