I got some more details on the story line to get us started.
[quote] Ramses II was the ruler of Egypt from 1304 to 1237 B.C. and was the third Pharaoh of the 19th Dynasty.
In TEP, Ramses is dying at the age of 60, but he does not want to perish, renouncing his magnificent kingdom. The supreme Egyptian god Amon-Re has agreed to grant him health and prolong his reign as Pharaoh

[quote]At first we had a marketing guideline: we had to build a game with the historical background of Ancient Egypt and develop religious themes from that period of time such as: magic, cult and beliefs and Egyptian Gods.
We found that these themes were very interesting but we feared that they would not be attractive or challenging enough for an adventure game.

During the Ancient Empire for instance (around 2500 B.C.), a gigantic obelisk (42 meters) was extracted from the granite quarry in Aswan. Unfortunately, the obelisk broke in the quarry, before the end of the extraction. Many Egyptians interpreted this event as a curse. That kind of story was very exciting as a start in the conception phase of The Egyptian Prophecy.
Pharaoh Ramses 2 really lived until the age of 90; he was a great and ambitious builder. In TEP
