Mouse, keyboard, or combo?

Please be specific!!

I'm not so good with the keyboard until I nearly finish the game.

Hi Mdamlady
Mouse navigation ala Riven. It's easy to naviagate around Alida - the cursor changes depending where it is on the screen.

Terrific!!!!

Loved the naviagation in Riven; soooooo easy!

So we'll have hot spots to help us along the way?

There are no hot spot cursors in Alida, but objects that can be activated on the screen are fairly obvious (except for the things I want to make difficult for you!) Object manipulation throughout Alida is always smooth. What needs to be done with what you find is another story!
Alida also has a 'Rocket Mode' than can be turned on/off which jumps past areas you've already explored.

Do you have to go back to areas later?? If so, you could miss something in 'rocket mode'

You can always turn "Rocket Mode" off...

I have not played Riven, so please forgive me if this question is redundant.

Will it have 360 degree panning. (This type navigation makes my sister and daughter ill so they cannot play games with this feature)

The navigation is "slide show" style ala Riven. The transitions can be adjusted to one of three settings, as well as smoothness adjustments via option-t (Mac) alt-t (Windows) keypresses.

The navigation is a breeze in Alida. For me, it was intuitive right from the start.

Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go.
