I have come to a standstill. I picked up all the necessary things I needed to leave the hotel room, tried ringing the sheriff & Alison, read the newspaper headlines & various notes & letters. Been to the newsstand guy who needs an incentive to give me more info, the sheriff's out & the guy in the cafe doesn't want to play cards with me any more . can anyone tell me what to do now?

Chrisse, I'm at the same point. Did you pay for the newspaper at the news stand? Are your newspapers in English? Mine are in italian and I can't read them!

Hi iscreamer1, I picked up a couple of 50 cent pieces at the news stand but couldn't find a way of paying for a newspaper. The newspaper in the hotel room was in Italian but if you clicked on the heading you got some basic info about the subject

I'm not sure how i paid for the paper. I clicked on a coin then on the newsagent and after several times I got a paper but no info on the lady. Funny! I'll try again>

Hi iscreamer1, I got a little info on the lady by clicking the other 50 cents coin on him - but seems it needed some follow-up somewhere - I tried everywhere, everyone & everything I could think of!!!

Chrissie I think I've given up too. I wish we knew how far the demo was susposed to go. The game definately needs some work before it's ready for release.

I have downloaded the demo without any problems but I can't go any further than, in front of the filing cabinet????

I can hear a clock ticking, I get a spyglass as cursor when hovering over the cabinets or the picture on the wall but nothing happens when I click with the mouse???? [Roll Eyes]

I get no option to go right, left or back.

Any ideas, please?

Hi Carmen, you move around by clicking on available directional arrows. At the position you are, if you move your mouse to the left or right of the screen an arrow should appear & you just click to go in either direction or you can move the mouse to the bottom of the screen to find a curly arrow which will turn you around! Hope that helps!

Hi iscreamer, never thought about how far the demo goes! - maybe that's all there is in which case it's a good taster to give you an idea of the game, but a little infuriating if you're not sure when you've got all you are going to get!!

The trouble with my demo is, that no arrow appears , up or down, right or left, all I get is the spyglass when I go over the filing cabinets, the picture or the picture on the wall, but I cannot make anything move at all, thiugh the "normal" cursor of a round little clock can move all over the screee.....VERY STRANGE.

Hi carmen, there is obviously a glitch in your demo - the spyglass sounds right, if you click on the cabinets you should get a comment but if you can't go anywhere I would suggest uninstalling the demo & downloading it again to see if that helps!

Hi I can't seem to find all the tools in the office or hotel room - whatever it is. I have been in the desk drawers and looked on the desk, gotten the letter from Alison, tried the phone calls, but keep getting the message that I need "tools" to leave - help please.

I've just had a Google. I can't locate a demo either, but the full game is available for download via GamersGate. Hopefully someone "in the know" will drop by and enlighten us.

Rushes, thank you for checking on the demo for me. As a rule I don't download games, and I probably won't with this one either. I just saw this game on ebay from someone in the UK, if it doesn't go to high a price I might bid on it there.

This game looks like one I'll buy ... I'm stuck on the demo now ... like others in this thread, I need the tools before I can leave. I've opened the trunk and found the briefcase, but I don't know the combination.

I just clicked on the briefcase and it opened. Running it on Vista.
