Hi,

Well I found the person that gives the Orb of Linking quest and have now finished that quest so I can now use the Safe Deposit Box in the Bank to store stuff in. I have put this information in my notes so I know the next time I play the game. This is the only Bank in Might and Magic games that I have trusted with my stuff. smile

I haven't tried the Mage to see if she can use Everstrike so will have to let you know if she can or not.

Well finally finished the Mines and have a couple of Jarl's quests left to do so will work on them next.

I have a mage and a gladiator now. Still have to promote the other two. The mage quest was nearly impossible unless I used a sneaky method to get the key for the Terrors. I'm confused about the Town Portal. My mage needs Master to go to any town, but Master in what? Both Elemental and Light Magic? We are at level 16 now.

Figured it out and Town Portal is working.

Hi all,

Sounds like everyone is doing well & having fun. I've gotten behind - I just got out of the hospital after falling onto the side of a coffee table & cracking 3 ribs & partially deflating a lung! They say I'll be alright & the lung is healing itself. What a bummer!

I thought about M&M9 while I was in the hospital & was really glad to get back to it. I'm working on the mage quest, Pokey - the verhoffin Ruins are very tough!

Barb, that's AWFUL. I'm SO sorry, and I'm glad you are all right. I hope you feel better soon.

I was just thinking about you today and yesterday, too, as I have Vampire Redemption here and was thinking about loading it up, based on all the good things you have said about it.

Oh, and I have Might and Magic 9 installed, as well. smile

You take care. catrub

Hi,

Oh Barb....I am so sorry to hear what happened and hope you heal fast. So glad your back home again. smile

The Everstrike bow can only be used by the Priest and the Mage did not want to use it.

The Ruins are really tough and you can always wait until you get stronger Pokey before you go back and try again.

You have to have Master in Elemental which represents the Water, Air, Fire and Earth in this game to be able to teleport anywhere. Sometimes you have to be Master in one thing and Expert in another before you can use a spell. If you (I think) hold the right button over the spell in your inventory you will see what you need to have before you can learn it. If you already have learned it then keep putting skill points into Elemental so you can get Master. Remember Expert is number 4, Master is number 7 and Grandmaster is number 10. I found in the other games (MM 8)that if you go beyond the number then the teacher will not promote you to Expert or Master or whatever.

Well we are on the last quest for the Jarls and that would be to visit the Giant...Oh joy... I hate when he stomps after you and you have to run like the dickens to get away from him.

Well get him we must and free those kids while we are at it. smile

Barb what a lousy thing to have happen. Glad to hear your home and on the mend. I'm still at the beginning - haven't had much time to play anything the past couple of weeks. I seem to be having a harder time getting into this game - maybe it's the new controls and the fact most of the stuff is just window dressing - at any rate I'm hunkered down in Drangheim getting the life beat out of me by the Thralls and it's not a pretty sight let me tell you.

Magic, I finished the ruins. I was able to get the key by entering the room in turn based combat mode and the Terrors didn't notice me. Before discovering that, we were all dead really quick.

I just finished two of the jarls' quests in Lindesfarne and have a bit of cash to level up some more and then my Gladiator can use some better armor. The battles seemed rather easy in Lindesfarne. The magic wands worked well for my magic users, especially poison. I also got an Assassin promotion, so just the Lich to go.

Anyone know where I might find Lloyd's Beacon spell for sale?

We finally found a Lloyd's Beacon spell book when we cleared the mountain pass. Also did the mines so we have quite a bit of gold to spend on leveling.

Hi,

Glad to hear that you found the spells needed Pokey. smile

Sounds like you are moving right along in the game.

Yesterday was the day I had to format my hard drive because of Restart/Shutdown problems so will be a little bit before I can continue with the game.

Moving right along with all of the installing and MY GOD don't even want to think about all of the updates. Oh well....one thing at a time.

Nearly finished with the Chasm of the Dead. We have the quest items and just have to loot any remaining chests. Then I hope we can get the final promotion to Lich.

Hi,

Well the Chasm is pretty hard and if you can get through that then you can get through anything. smile

Just reinstalled the game yesterday but haven't gone back in yet. Will probably do that today.

Thanks for all the get well notes, everyone. I am feeling much better.

Marian, if you want to play Redemption, I'm always ready to play it! Just let me know when you start. I don't mind giving up on M&M9.

I used a few tricks to get through the Chasm. In one area, I had the skeletons chase me to a pile of dirt and clambered up there to dispose of them. I was getting killed by all those zombies in the bottom of the Chasm--they had a devastating spell. I finally just raced through them for the door at the other end. A few got through with me but I could handle them.

Hi,

Well we got the BIG ole BAD Giant in his Ice Fort. The kids are free and running around the place and that finished the last quest for the Jarls.

We are now getting a treaty signed between Strumford and Draghiem.

Finally got through the Dark Passage. That was a tough section with seven terrors to battle in the mirror area. Glad to be back in Guberland and rest for a while.

Hi,

Wow Pokey I didn't realize that you were not far behind me. smile

Sounds like you are moving right along.

That Mirror area can be really tough but I have written down how many turns each one takes so I have no problem with them.

We are almost more then half way through the 1000 terrors area now so not far to go to the end of the game.

So what do you think of this game Pokey? Have you ever played it before?

This is the umpteen time for me and still going. smile

The mirrors didn't bother me, though it was hard to tell if they were pointing correctly. I just kept adjusting till they worked. It was all the terrors that made it tough and I wouldn't have gotten through without finding a high place they couldn't get to. The ones in the adjacent tunnels I just ran from.

This is the first time I've played it. I'm liking the game and think it is easier than M&M 7. There are a couple near impossible spots so far but trickery and a climbable high spot have saved me.

1000 terrors! Are you kidding? eek

Hi,

No Pokey that is what its called. As for there being 1000 terrors.....it really didn't seem like that many. smile

Well I have finished the game and am now still looking for the spear the Gatekeeper in Arslegard wanted for us to find.

I don't remember if I found it the other times I played the game but can't seem to find it this time. Does anyone know where it is located?????

Well Pokey carry on and I will check everyday to see how you are doing.

Hi,

Well that site tells me that I don't get the quest if I have a Priest in my group but I did get it even with the Priest.

I then talked to the lady God (Fre) and she told me that it was either in Tornhiem or to the West of there. This didn't help me for clues at all.

Well if the quest doesn't work then I might as well uninstall the game since I am finished with it.

If you have the quest then it should work. Did you go to the location given in the hints? There is a nice map included.

Hi,

Oh I see....Thanks Pokey...will have to go check it out hehe. smile I still have the game installed so just for the heck of it I will get it.

Don't forget to bookmark Arslegard because that is a better way to go there without having to die each time.
