Okay, I've figured out the cheats to Cradle of Rome. So of course now the only ones I ever need are the time bonus, and occasionally I use the mixer if I'm starting to hallucinate rocks and fishes.

But I do have a last question: how is it possible to have 3 consecutive rows of 5? I've had one of 5 plenty of times, but there are never any other 5s on the board.

You have to plan ahead, right? But how can you see the consequences of moves that far ahead?

I mean, I can see what's going to happen within a couple of tiles around where I'm planning a move, but I just don't see how you can organize the board to have 3 rows of 5 available consecutively. think

Does anyone have tips, or is this one of those spatial relationship far into the future things, like chess, which are beyond me?

Thanks,

Margaret praise

Minxs, I've done some googling and found several tips and cheats pages, but none which addresses your problem.

Hopefully, someone who has played this game will be by with the perfect tip for you luck

No but I hope someone comes to your (our) aid soon. The only citizen I am missing now is the Fisherman.

I laboriously set up 3 matches of 5 but when I clicked the first one it set into motion another match and I still didn't get the Fisherman cry

Glad to see the cheats are working for you now. Even with the time cheat some levels are terrible. But I don't want to use the bonus cheats unless I absolutely must. Getting the citizens does make the bonuses refill faster at least.

Good luck Minxs luck Linda

I just got the forum so I have to earn the Orator (3000 units of gold in one level), but apart from that I have everyone but the Fisherman.

I was surprised to get the Gladiator -- it says "make a chain reaction of 15 blows" and I had no idea what that was, but apparently did it anyway. smile

Arrgghh! And how can this NOT happen? Obviously it must be possible, but someone would REALLY have to have foresight to realize how every single tile would fall.

Sigh. How frustrating, Linda!

Ahhhhhh -- it just occurred to me, that's probably why one of my bonuses was refilling so slowly: I don't have the Fisherman!

Not that it matters now, since I have the cheat. whistle

I like the challenge of not using a cheat, but knowing I can have enough time certainly removes the anxiety.

razzed, did you follow the link for cheats in my email? One of the first cheats is to give yourself extra lives.

In Profiles.xml you can change the number of lives to whatever you need. 10 works for most but not all. Give yourself all the lives you need. You may need to do it again as you get too low.

Linda luck

Also, razzed, if you follow that link (if it's to bantamcity) it tells you how to edit bonuses (I now have an unlimited hourglass, which is the only cheat I use). You can also give yourself extra resources, which sort of defeats the point entirely.

I still cannot get that fisherman, though. I don't see a cheat for that! Plus, for one of the other people the condition was "3000 units of gold on a following level" but he has not appeared. It must have meant 3000 units of gold on the first level he showed up. frown

Minxs, that is the Orator but you must get the entire 3000 units of Gold in one level and that isn't as easy as it sounds. Keep going and you will get him eventually. Match up all the $$ you can find. With your unlimited hourglass you should be able to just keep acquiring $$. I forget but I think the Rings are $$.

The only one I am unable to get is still the Fisherman duh but I keep trying.

I just wanted to say that this game is SERIOUSLY addicting. I started it last night and I just hit level 45! lol scared

I have nine lives at the moment, with no cheats so far. But I've been playing these games long enough to know that at some point it will become nearly impossible to finish without them.

Whenever I have decided that I am all burned out on match-3 games, along comes something like Cradle of Rome to prove me wrong. evil

WTG Marian! Have you managed to get any of the citizens?

I really enjoyed the game until my computer crashed and I lost my saved game. But I just know that pretty soon I will just start over again.

Keep having fun!
Love,

Linda, I'm on the senator level (I believe that's what it is), and I haven't gotten any citizens yet. I am now at level 55 and have already lost two lives on this level--I'm just not quick enough!

But it's a wonderful game, and if I have to resort to cheats and giving myself extra lives, that is what I will do! smile wave
