Hi,
I was searching for cheats to turn off timers, and found this site Casual Games Association

It has a huge list of all the sites that have casual games. I am still checking them out, but most of these sites have free downloads. happydance

Happy Gaming!!

I think the whole idea is to play through your one hour trial, download the same game off another casual games site, go through their one hour trial, then go to another one and so on.

I'm working on some actual cheats for games such as diner dash etc, but timers are BEYOND me at the moment...

The sad part of that is, if that would work and people do that, they will quit making the games because no one will be buying them. We have to do our part in keeping our games coming and buy them.

I wouldn't think that would work. Wouldn't you just be playing the same hour over and over?

Sounds like more work and more risk than it is worth! puppy

Correct L4L, I believe it has something in the program that wouldn't even allow you to download it twice and play again even you delete the first download. When the hour is up, I believe it is not renewable.

I did not mean to d/l from different sites although I have done that a couple of times. I buy lots of games though so I don't feel too guilty about that. One time it still said your 60 minutes are up, and it has been a long time since I tried that, so it might not work anymore.

No, I was finding different games. happydance

You can NEVER have too many games!! I loved seeing what some of the folks were producing, too. Lots of interesting web sites

luck

My horizons are sort of limited - I stick to the big publishers like Gamehouse/Reflexive/Big Fish.

So you are saying that people are essentially stealing a game by going to different sites to continue to play the same game?
Is that fair or right? What about the developer that spent hours, weeks, months or years making this game? You condone stealing it from them or from the site you downloaded from?

Let us support the makers and publishers of these Casual Games that we enjoy playing. If we do not support them, these developers might end up closing down.

Sally(MG),
Please check your e-mail. Thanks.

Not at all. If nobody buys games, it certainly wouldn't help my cause any. It's what keeps my own site UP.

People do to that a lot though, which I believe should be easily stopped by coding in signatures into the saved games so that reflexive saves wouldn't work with BFG saves and so on. But I guess that might prove detrimental as well.

I have occasionally played a game at IWin and then replayed at Big Fish, or vice versa.

The ONLY reason was because I was deciding whether to buy the game. Which I usually did.

I wouldn't buy a game WITHOUT the free trial. However, according to Gamezebo, while most game distributors accept the free trial model, they are also busily trying to think up ways to monetize it, or get around it some way.

(Such as letting you play for 10 minutes, then asking for a small amount of money to play for 10 more, which would be right out for me. Or, running an ad, which would be fine.)

I seriously doubt that there are a lot of people replaying a game's first hour over and over again. Getting rid of that could be a huge mistake for distributors, IMO.

Margaret

P.S. Does Oberon have a time limit? My son and I downloaded Death on the Nile from the Oberon site, and went on playing LONG past 60 minutes.

Well wouldn't mind if the sixty minutes was all play time but cut scenes take some of that time though usually know before the time is up if am buying it or not. Guess I'm more of the one percenter. lol Have bought most of the games that I've downloaded.

Never resist a generous impulse.

I buy maybe 40 percent of games I try for an hour.

But who does that hurt? I wouldn't buy ANY games without a trial, or at least very, very few. Certainly not as many as I do now. I buy because I get hooked, and because having tried it, I know I like it.

So it certainly doesn't hurt the game developers/publishers. Does it hurt sites like IWin or Big Fish? I don't see that either, since they get money from site traffic as well as game sales.

Glowing reviews would motivate me to buy very few games without a trial because I would not be hooked, and because YMMV when it comes to someone else liking something.

Think about buying a book. You read the blurbs and summary, reviews maybe, leaf through it. Plus, a book is a known item. I don't have to worry that the "readplay" will be something I dislike or can't cope with.

Movies -- I go to, or rent those based on reviews and word of mouth, and the investment is similar (at least if you have a club membership). I guess that is the model gamebusiness people are looking at.
