I'm playing the original Half Life (not Half Life 2).

I've played through the game without cheats, but I've had to use cheats to get past the tough levels in Xen. I read the HL walkthrough on Gamespot. I blew up the three orange crystals and emptied all my ammo into Nihilanth's open head. He's writhing around with his head open and yellow and green lightning flashing everywhere. But the game is stuck here.

How do I get the game to move forward so I can see the ending?

Hello, CraigR. As far as I know, that is the only thing you need to do. Avoid those green balls of light, and then jump up and empty everything you have into his brain, when the head is open.

Or did you mean he´s writhing around and has stopped attacking you?

That happened for me aswell. Unfortunately I think the only thing to do is start the Nihilanth fight all over again.

Nihilanth is writhing around with yellow and green lightning going everywhere, and he's not attacking me.

I seem to remember hearing that Half Life would not let a player complete the last level if any cheats were enabled. Has anyone else heard of this? I certainly hope not because I'm sure I'll never beat Nihilanth without cheats enabled.

This is a great game, but frankly you are not missing anything of great importance or interest if you fail to finish the last short section.
