Fathamburger - a picture of a picture is still a picture. Hope this helps.

Betty Lou - Mavis is the dead one, Harriet is the old woman that is alive. Harriet gave you a letter that is now in inventory along with some other item of interest that was attached to the letter.

Thanks shany, I guess I got the names backwards. I will go back into the game and recheck my inventory and that letter, I thought I had read it and don't remember that anything was with it. Another senior moment to add to the many I seem to have some days. Thanks - I will probably be back here soon and often grin

Ah, I went back and looked at that item that was with the letter and decided to play 'lets pretend' with Mavis....have pried additional info out of her but don't know what to do with it. Have returned to talk to Harriet again and she has been no help. Stuck again, don't know what to do now. I need help with convincing Mavis she is dead! What to do now?

BL you got a picture with the letter correct? Did you look at the picture carefully? What is on the sweatshirt? See if you can't follow that clue and get more info.

OK, did that, but there is no note in Lauren's notebook regarding that, that subject does not show up in talking to Mavis, they are not in the phone book and no location comes up "outside" to go to to talk to Sam, I haven't a clue what to do next.....just going around in circles getting nowhere. Thanks for the tip, but I need more help, obviously. And Mavis apartment number, what am I supposed to do with that, have tried to read the blueprints in the trailer, can't do that. HELP, please.

You should be able to look up something from the picture in the notebook. It's right there in the photo.

BL look at what it says on the sweatshirt the male in the picture is wearing. Try calling the number for that school and then locate Sam from there.

BL, click on the name on the sweatshirt although I doubt that is the trigger. You only need the name of the school to be able to type it in. Then you need the young males name to go from that point.

If you found the name of the place in the phonebook you should be able to make a call.

As I tried to indicate, there is NO listing in the phone book for Columbia or for Sam Wilcox. And I DID click on the name on the sweatshirt. Nothing in my "notes" either. I'm stumped.

BL you should be able to type in the name of Columbia University after you click on the sweatshirt as long as you know that the woman had a son. Did you talk to the journalist and the old lady that was her neighbor about all topics? You must find out that she had a child.

Aha, I retyped the full name and it WAS in the phone book - tsk tsk = no abreviations please!. Thanks Ana. Now, how do I find out what that present was? No one seems able to give me hint in the game and Mavis is not being any help either. Or, what do I do with the info that Sam gave his mom something? I'm not coming up with any ideas on how to pry Mavis loose from that construction site to send her on her way.

Talk to the reporter BL. He knows what the gift was and that should help you wind things up with Mom.
She'll go out the gate with Sam when he finds out what the gift is exactly.

I got it! After posting and rechecking my 'map' I realized I had not talked to the reporter, looked him up and am happily on my way to talk to Mavis yet again. Thanks

***~HELP~*** me again please - I have met the old lady (once) and have gone to that other location and seen the jazz musician but don't know what to do now. He won't talk to us (J or L) and the old lady has disappeared for now. Where to now?

You'll have to wait for the countess to show up again. Did you go to the nightclub and talk to Cecil, think that's his name?
If you want the sax player to talk to you, you need to have Joey do it. Get Joey to grab hold of the sax and you can ask a couple of questions before the player gets really angry.
Do you have your camera and the dictaphone in inventory?

Aha, 'have Joey do it'! I will try that. And yes, I picked up the camera and dictaphone at home when I started Case #1, just have to decide where and when to use it/them. Thanks for the 'nudge'.

***HELP me please, again*** I had Joey grab the sax and talk to player 2 or 3 times. Looked up Club in phone book and went there and talked to piano player. Took a pic of the sax player but cannot record him for some reason. Tried to find the pic to show to the piano guy but can't find it but it says my notebook has been 'updated'. Stuck again, don't know what to do now.

Have Joey [I think] look at the sheet music on the piano. That will give you a name to work with. You took a picture of the picture on the wall in the club yes?
You won't be able to record what the ghost is playing. Did you look at the photo on the wall? Who is hidden behind the lady on the piano? Have you figured out who the lady is yet? You will have to talk to the piano player more to get answers. Is the reporter involved in this part of the game?
Do you know the name of the man playing the piano besides C?

Had Joey check out the music, took a pic of the photo and asked C. about it, talked to him a bit, back to Jazzman with photo, can't show it to him, reporter is 'clueless' ( grin both for me and for himself) don't know who that lady could be and the old woman is 'gone but not forgotten', where should I wait to see her again? What do I do now? Someone should have written a walkthrough for me and others who don't know what they are doing grin

BL this is a game that you just have to keep working on. It's driven by the clues that you uncover through conversations.
Do you have the pianists full name yet?
The countess only shows up occasionally and you won't see much of her until you solve Isaac's ghostly problem.
Are you trying to connect clues in the journal? The reporter does know who Isaac is, you just haven't found the trigger for it yet.

Of what use is that picture, can't show it to the reporter, Cecil has already said he doesn't recognize anyone, can't show it to jazzman. Clues in my journal (notebook)? Can't connect any combination of the 4 that are there = reporter, Contessa, Cecil, jazzman. Looked up Cecil in phone book and called him, no answer, called the Club, busy signal. Cannot find a 'trigger' to jog reporter's memory of his interview with Jazzman or his talk to Cecil. What do I do now? Stumped, again and still.

Have you found out who the singer in the photo is yet? If not, go talk to the reporter some more. He'll eventually tell you who it is. Then it's back to Cecil again and again to get the extra info you need, then back to Isaac.

You mean I just have to be stubborn and bug the heck out of that reporter? He keeps saying NO, he doesn't know anyone or anything....what IS that trigger to his memory? PLEASE Why can't I show him the picture? There is no option to do so in my 'questioning' of him and no options to help Lauren to jog his memory either, she doesn't ask the right questions and they don't come up for me to choose.
