Freya, you're definitely not the only person who had this problem, and it's too bad they weren't able to resolve the issue. Hopefully SweetToothGames won't have this issue in the next game. (but meanwhile, update your graphics driver just in case)

Chrissie,
Here is a copy of my original correspondence with BFG Customer Support contained in the brackets:
[I am a game club member. I recently purchased “The Scruffs.” I was enjoying the game, playing in the relaxed mode, until I reached the section near the end where you have to locate grandpa’s jewels. I couldn’t find a single one. I finally went to the Gameboomer forum for assistance. Even with help the help of others, I still was unsuccessful. I had noticed another oddity (which I will explain below) in this program, so I uninstalled and reinstalled the game. Unfortunately, I had the same experience in the same section. One of the Gameboomers offered me more assistance by having me e-mail a screen capture of two of the rooms involved - the guest room and the attic. Her results are below:
“Neither of those screenshots contained gems. I take reference screenshots of my games, so I took your screenshots and compared them with mine with the "difference" filter in photoshop. Aside from the fact that my screenshots contained a gem, everything else was exactly the same. If you email those screenshots to BFG I'm sure they can do something to fix the game. If you want you can send me the rest of the shots from the rest of the rooms (preferably in original 800x600 resolution since I had to resize them again in photoshop) and send them as PNGs, I can compare the rest.
But yes, definitely a glitch!”
The second problem I noticed during this problem involves the file C:\Program Files\The Scruffs\ Player and occurred in both installations. It is labeled “Brains“BrainsBreaker_SavedPuzzle.” When I open it, it opens the BrainsBtreaker program. BrainsBreaker is a jigsaw program that has been on my computer for a long time and has not caused me any problems before. It is functioning properly.
I am at a complete loss as to how to rectify this situation. Please advise.
Thank you.
P.S. I have not included a captured picture as an attachment as I don’t know how to do that on this form with Screenshot Captor. I would have to send it as an attachment on my e-mail.]
Subsequently, I did e-mail BFG pictures of the rooms at the end of the game (from my computer) which were supposed to contain the jewels. There were no jewels. I also played the game in the timed mode to see if this made a difference. Unfortunately, it did not.
As I stated before, the problem could not be resoved. I hope this aids you in your quest for a solution.
Good luck, Freya
