Pre Game Hints

No you aren't stupid at all. Just because you don't have it in your inventory doesn't mean that you can't help the good Captain find something useful to use. Search every where again and find what you need.

It's all there waiting for you to find it.

Remember -- that this game is truly in the style of the old classics. Search carefully in all the nooks and crannys. Sometimes
Click to reveal..
it wil be a pixel hunt -- sometimes not --- remember that things aren't always what they seem. --- sometimes it will be labled --- sometimes they won't be --- leave no stone unturned -- no staircase untrod -- no sides of walls untouched no matter how dark and slimy or what might be attached to them

I'm all out of patience (or brains). Still stuck in Darkmere and can't do any more of the "try everything with everything". Any suggestions?

That's because you still don't have what you need.

Sometimes the best places to seek out are

those little shops that sell bits and bobs to see what you might find
to help the Captain.

There was something quite interesting left at the

2nd victim's crime scene
What would Nancy Drew do to record this evidence? What would she need to accomplish it?

Thanks for the help Inferno, but if you're talking about the

charcoal etching from the door
I've done that, do I do something else with it? Or do you mean something else?

I have the chain, the orb, the hay, the leather pouch and apron, the beggars stick, a pair of glasses, the key to the inn, chef's hat, cork, charcoal drawing, and of course the things i drug along from the last chapter and what the mayor gave me.

I think I've tried everything on the locked doors to open them, but nothing works. Nothing in my inventory can be combined and there's no one left to talk to at any of the shops.

Hi,back in the game and stuck again in front at the first air vent. Quagmire says:"the opposite of six with three" Right or left? Have to count the reverse button or not? I'm trying millions of combinations but I can't open that grate...

if those two things are all you have discovered, you need to direct the Captain to search much more. Tell me what new items you now have (under spoilers, please)since you began this level.

Dyl'smom use the reply form that gives you access to the smilies. I think the third icon from the right [looks like a megaphone] is the one you need to use for a spoiler.

This game is wonderfully Macabre so it kinda fits, but I have saved the game in case I have somehow sealed my fate negatively.
