That's sound very interesting! Toronto, Canada – January 30, 2008 – Leading publisher Lighthouse Interactive and developer Zoetrope Interactive today released the first update for their psychological horror Adventure game, Darkness Within: In Pursuit of Loath Nolder. The update includes several new features and upgrades. Darkness Within was released in stores across North America and Europe in November 2007. This chilling PC CD-ROM game is inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft and is Windows® Vista™ compatible.
Key Upgrades and Features included in Update 1.02:
• Inventory Management – Several inventory related issues have been corrected • Graphics Improvements – The game now uses the default refresh rate of the player’s monitor and the anti-aliasing option now supports “2X” and “4X” instead of “On” and “Off” • Document Underlining – Improvements have been made to the interface and game mechanics • Sound Issues – Audio issues have been fixed • Alternative Clues and Solutions to Puzzles – There is now more than one way to garner clues to some puzzles (i.e. Clark’s birthday) and alternative ways to solve a puzzle (i.e. photo puzzle) • Interface Improvements – Upgrades in functionality have been made, especially to the DES feature in the Inventory Menu • Windows Vista® - A Windows Vista® only problem has been fixed where the 'File Virtualization' feature causes the game to use the wrong game files. This eventually results in strange behavior or crashes in the game.

Finished the game with no problems and really enjoyed it (the spookiest game I've yet played). Does anyone have the list of Easter Eggs? I have kept it on with the saved games so I could go back and see them.

Howard the Doc -- some of those Easter Eggs are difficult to find! I believe these are two of them (the developers say they will eventually reveal all the Easter Eggs on their site). When you first see the raven at the Baunbell mansion, click on it.
When you are very near the end of the game, go back to Loreid's apartment and see who has left you a phone message.

Glad to hear there's a patch. I also have Vista and at one point near the end of the game every time I clicked on a hot spot---the game crashed. Went back to a save three times and it still crashed at that spot. Maybe now I'll try it again.

PCGamer Magazine gave Darkness Within a terrible review. The reviewer must be a GamegenX rather than a Gameboomer. LOL

Hi Becky. I had so much trouble with the near end of the game crashing that I gave up and uninstalled the whole thing and didn't keep my saves. Now I have to start from the beginning again but I plan to get to it soon. I'll let you know how the patch worked when I get to that part in the game.

Just finished Darkness Within. Seems I did keep my saves when I reinstalled the game and was able to continue. The patch worked wonderfully. I had no problems with the game after installing the patch which fixed the glitch. Really enjoyed the game.

Hi, Is this a patch that you need for the game if you don't have Vista? I haven't started the game yet and I don't have Vista so I was just wondering. Thanks.

PCGamer Magazine gave Darkness Within a terrible review. The reviewer must be a GamegenX rather than a Gameboomer. LOL I wish the game mags wouldn't DO that, although I hope that most adventure gamers know not to pay too much attention to what the magazine reviews say--just come to GameBoomers and read what our reviewers have to report! But I wonder sometimes how many new adventure gamers we lose because they read the reviews and never even try the games...
