Hi everyone! I'm playing Sherlock Holmes The Mystery of the Mummy and have a problem. After working long and hard and finally exchanging all the books in the library and making it out of the parlor, I had to quit the game for the day. I saved my game up to that point, or so I had thought. When I got back on to play, I found that I was at the very beginning of the library part again! Help! cry Does anyone know where I can get a saved game so I can bypass the library and parlor and go to the upstairs study. Anything to get me past the library!
I don't know if I can take going through all that again...
Thanks very much! TK

I have no saves for this game any more Turquoise. You may have to repeat that section unless someone has one for you.

MaG,

thanks for the link to the saved games site. Has anyone downloaded any saved games from here? Just wondering if it's virus free and safe to download. Thanks! TK

I have posted that link to other gamers and have not heard any problem.
You might want to run an antivirus on the zipped file that you download, just in case.

Hi all! I'm playing Sherlock Holmes Mystery of the Mummy and am in the wine cellar. I picked up 5 of the 7 bottles I need. I can't find the Bordeaux or the empty bottle. The walkthrough I have says to go to the wine shelves along the wall and pick up the bottle of Bordeaux on the top right shelf. I went to that shelf and can't find the Bordeaux. I even went along ALL the shelves with no luck. The walkthrough also says the empty bottle along with two rags are in the wine floor rack, which is at the end wall opposite the stoned-up doorway. I found the rags with no problem but can't find the empty bottle. I've gone along both sides of the wine floor rack with no luck.

I only see two different wine racks. The one that's standing on the floor not too far from the green sleeping cot and he other is the long wine rack with many shelves that's along one wall. Am I missing another wine rack somewhere? I've gone slowly along every shelf of the wall rack and all along the floor rack, looking for the grasping hand icon and no luck!

Can anyone out there please help me find the bottle of Bordeaux and the empty bottle? Thanks! TK

Turquoise,

Please use only one thread per game. It helps us follow your gameplay. You can find your postings in My Place on top of each forum page.

Check here for another take on the wine cellar - here.

From the walkthrough by Ugur Sener:
Go back to the mattress and use the hammer on the wooden panel. Holmes will find a statue. Turn around and walk up to the rack of wine shelves closest to the door you came through.

Take the stick that is on the second row of shelves from the bottom. Also take a bottle of Spain vine on the shelf next to the stick. Move forward once along the wine racks. At this spot, turn slightly to the right while still facing the shelves. The second shelf from the top contains a bottle of Bourgogne Holmes can take. Now turn slightly to the left. Once again from the second shelf from the top, take a bottle of touraine. There is another hotspot on the column of shelves at the corner of the room. Take a bottle of Bordeaux from the top shelf. Finally, turn around and take an empty bottle from the rack at the center of the room.

Continue along the shelves. Move forward one more time and turn around to take a look at the wine rack at the center of the room. In the area between the two sides of the wine rack, you can find a second rag. Put it in your inventory.

When you move forward one more time, you will be in front of a shelf where Sherlock can take a bottle of gin and a bottle of liqueur. When you remove these items, click on the back of the shelf. Holmes will point out that the bottom is made to fit circular objects.

Take the bottle of Bordeaux from your inventory and use it on the empty shelf. Holmes will place it on the far left side. Now take the bottle of Bourgogne and use it on the shelf. Holmes will put it next to the Bordeaux. Use the bottle of touraine on the shelf. Now use the bottle of Spain vine. Finally, use the bottle of liqueur. A second slider puzzle will be revealed.

Hi MaG, sorry I forgot to keep all this in one thread.
Thanks for the walkthrough by Ugur Sener. I'll try it tomorrow and let you know how I did. thanks TK

EDIT: need help at storage room!

Hi MaG and all you other Boomers! MaG, the walkthrough gave me really helped. I was able to get through the wine cellar, the laboratory, the storage room (first time), the roatating room, and go through the lab again, and now am stuck at the storage room.

So anyone out there who's played Mystery of the Mummy or is just good at playing games, I need your help again!

I recently left the rotating room, where I added the "B" seal to my inventory. Following the walkthrough, I then left the rotating room, went through the lab, and back to the storage room, where I'm supposed to use the "B" seal on the center urn standing on the floor, where the seal will disappear into the urn.

My problem is when I take the "B" seal out of my inventory and walk up to the center urn, the urn will not accept the seal.
I've moved the cursor all around the urn and there is no "inventory cursor" (a hand with what looks like part of a wrench in it) to indicate that the urn is ready to accept the "B" seal. I seem to have the correct items in my inventory & have re-read the walkthrough and don't think I've skipped any steps so I'm stumped.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why the urn isn't accepting the symbol? Thank you!

EDIT 2/13/08: With the help of my Mom, I got through the storage room and the wine cellar (again!) and am now going into the living room where the chandelier's on the floor.

Thanks, Mom! TK
