I'm at the woodlands after leaving the hotel room. I go in, see the sign and get to the 4 stones on the road. The lights go out and a large stone blocks my path, then a cut scene showing me touching it and dying. Another walkthru says there is a telephone out there and a jeep, but I cannot locate them, which will probably trigger the stone to stay away, but I end up back on the main road. Anyone played this game and can help me out?

A lot of use have played this game.

First, the 4 stones area is not where the telephone and jeep are located. Youa re behind and diagonal from the motel.
The telephone booth and jeep are on the main road pass the service station.

If you see the killer stone, just get out of its way - don't click on it. Just turn back and do something else.

You can follow a walkthrough if you want to and see how you progress.
Also in one of the rooms at the motel, there's a map that might help you.

Kaly whenever you see Mr. Hotrock, turn around and walk away. He will kill you every time. Not sure that finding the phone will keep him away.
You do need to be on the main road to find the phone booth. Explore the different things you can find on the roads, you are eventually going to have to find lots of things in this game. Just avoid the rock

I tried it again, the rock came back, I went and did the tower stuff and came back, but the rock was still there, so I went back to the parking lot, back to the rock, still there.

Kaly go elsewhere in the game and find other puzzles to solve. Go find the car and get into the hotel rooms and see what's there. If Mr. Hotrock is there, he'll stay there for awhile.
