Have you talked to Hansen completely?
When you made the flute did you use scary sound essence given by Hansen on the flute bone.

To call Niels, you shouldn't have any of the holes covered. If you blow the leftmost hole he appears.

I am also having trouble summoning Niels. We are supposed to do that in the cellar, correct? I made the flute, put the scarey sound on the flute and initially got the wind appearing graphic when clicking on the left hole. Nothing happened. I then tried the flute cheat and now I've lost the wind. And it says something like "I have no problem communicating with Niels.."

Also, it was mentioned above whether Niels had been clicked on?

I did also make sure to go back to talk to Hansen completely.

I thought the flute cheat may have bypassed all of it but when going back to talk to the fireman about the gas furnace, he's back to the original dialogue I first had with him.

Any help is appreciated.

I followed the flute cheat and also got nowhere. I never saw Neils. I did talk to Hansen completely ans as before, if I click the wind sound, no flute appears. If I click just on scary sound, the flute appears and when I click on the left hole a wind graphic comes out but no sound. What to do next, please?

Maybe the file cheat given at the GITS site has the flute puzzle already done. Just continue on. See if you can click on Niels now and have a direct conversation. Keep us posted.

Itried the flute cheat and it places me back at the cellar where the factory power box is. I don't even see Niels. I put the flute cheat in my documents where GITS is and combined it with the last game save and nothing happened. Did I do something wrong that it won't work?

That might be the next puzzle to solve. I wonder what code Niels gave you.

Max are you clicking on what would have been a joint at the bottom of the bone? It looks like a black hole but if you pan slowly you will see a cursor.

I can't do anything with the bone, to make the flute. When I click on the bone, GITS, says, a bone left from the sleazy thing. i must be doing something wrong, but don't know what.

I sent you a saved game earlier - use that and continue on. It follows the walkthrough so you what has been done.

MaG, I can't find the saved game. Where do I look?

The saved game folder for GITS is in My Documents folder.
Download the saved game file I sent and renumber it to be the last number you see in the save folder.

MaG, I still can't find the saved game.

Are you meaning the one I sent earlier in the mail? If so, I sent another one - check your e-mail.
Dowbload it.
Opne the Ghost in the Sheet folder in My Documents.
Check the last number there.
Renumber the downloaded file sent.
Place the renumbered sent file.
Close all folders and play.

Maxcat, first of all, the flute cheat works like this:

1, copy the file to the folder where the game is (not the savegames) eg. Program Files\Ghost in the Sheet or wherever you've installed the game. There should be other dcp files too.

2, the cheat doesn't do anything by itself. You have to activate it by going to the passage in between halls (where the light bugs were) and clicking on the bucket newly labeled flute cheat. If you don't have this new label on the bucket, it means the cheat was not correctly installed.

3, lastly you have to summon flute and click on the left most hole (the one which you call in Niels normally).

This cheat doesn't skip the vital communication because your game wouldn't be playable anymore, it just auto solves the puzzle where you have to answer the sound questions.

okay I have the saved game... now I have put it in my document specically the GITS file i have about eight saved games. Do I encorporate the saved game MaG sent me into my last saved game?

maxcat did you rename/renumber the file before you dropped it into that folder? If you did you should be able to close all folders and go back to playing the game.
That should place the downloaded saved game as the last one in your folder when you start to play the game.

my security settings won't let me even open the file. I've turned Norton off and then went back to open game and it won't let me. It says my security setting won't allow it but it's turned off.

I'm sorry maxcat but I'm not familiar with Norton so I don't know whqt to tell you to do if it's turned off and you still have a problem.

Don't open the file.
Right click the label and select 'rename' on the menu. Then renumber it to be the last.
Then follow Sue's directions - place it in the GITS folder in My Documents.
Play-load as usual.
