oops. this is misinformation from my side. I was refering to Secrets of Da Vinci - forbidden manuscript. Not Nostradamus. Could anyone please confirm if Nostradamus has StarForce too?

Metamorphium, What version of Secrets of Da Vinci do you have? My Secrets of Da Vinci used TAGES, not StarForce. I've found one source that says Nostradamus also uses TAGES. Just a note. I've purchased this game from AG and it has StarForce in it. Does AG stand for Adventuregamers? I thought their shop was only for downloadable versions.

Hi Jenny. Boxed version indeed uses Tages. That's why I went and buy the game (as I have very nasty personal experience with StarForce on my former laptop). But Adventure Gamers shop uses some sort of online activation and they utilize StarForce for the protection. I suspect it will be the same with Nostradamus. I'm contacting them right now and asking for info and for inclusion of this information on their website.

I've just recieved this explanatory email from Adventure Gamers: Fisrt of all I want to assure you that the game you acquired is NOT copy protected with starforce in the way you intend it. Starforce is used ONLY as a wrapper and a solution to check and activate your key. No driver or any other piece of software has been installed on your computer.
The first time you launch the game, the key will be sent to a server for online activation. If the key is valid, the server will unlock your version. This wrapper as nothing to compare with traditionnal retail copy protection system, as it is only checking for your key.
This system works the same way other online solutions such as Tages, ActiveMark or Securom do. It is NOT intrusive at all which is not the case of all the other online solutions that I just mentionned.
Adventure games is a genre that is not massively pirated, so it does not require a very strong copy protection system. For this reason, only the key is checked for validation. We simply want to avoid a key to be shared and used a 1000 times. We want to offer a minimum level of protection to our partners and developers.

I just purchased the down-load of the game and they gave 2 links, one says ftb and the other is Bittorrent
I am not sure what the difference is and which link to pick? Is that something you can help with here?
