stuck on day 1, (installed patch). In the harbor cottage and cant get an action icon on the chest at the foot of bed...any help?

Have you heard the plates break in the kitchen yet and read the journal?

Belle is correct, you have to finish things in the main floor before hearing something in the chest first.

Also see if using the key would get the active icon. Also I vaguely remember that the active spot is up or side of the chest. Maybe my memory is wrong through.

Looked at the wall at end of hallway, and checked out every picture in the house? Go downstairs, then walk back up again and into the bedroom. That might trigger the thumping sound you need to hear before you can open the trunk.

Please click on the tub and sink in the bathroom again.

for me it was the mirror in the bathroom

Thanks people, I've tried most of these things, I'll go back to the bathroom and see what happens...Later....the bathroom mirror did the trick, this ones going to be a pixel hunter, but a good one all in all...

Now Im stuck at the church, talked to grave digger, placed letters on the gravestone, done and used everything in the church, talked to the vicar on everything. Finally looked at the walkthrough which i dont like to do. And I've done everything that it has mentioned for this part. thanks for any help....

Too many things to do in the church to be able to pinpoint what you have missed.
It could a click on an active spot, a dialogue with the Vicar or a tool that wasn't used in the active spot.
Might be best to go around again and use all the tools and talk to the vicar again.
The ghost of Ager goes around one aisle and then another - so that can be missed.

1. Did you get leave the camera near the entrance and got the picture?

2. After putting all the letters did you talk to gravedigger for the second time? It should trigger the possibility of going back to church at night?

Still stuck at church, went back and used camcorder and the rest of tools on every action spot. talked to vicar again and again, talked to gravedigger again and again, listened to tapes, took picture on table and looked at it. I'm out of ideas...

There are many things to do in that church Bert... Have you done all of them? Have you checked the walkthrough?

apparently not, I cant leave....I have 2 recordings and a picture from inside the church, is that all the inventory items for this area? like I've said I used the tools, camcorder,camera,emf,and recorder on every action spot I can find. I'm begining to dislike this.....

I think you missed one recording
1) on the pews
2) on the statue with the missing hands
3) On the Rector-Rood board just before the sanctuary

I did those recordings. there was'nt anything at the rector board. I didnt get a tape in inventory...Mag, can I send you my save game file and see if you can figure it out?

I just got out of the church as Nigel says he has enough info.

But did not get the recording on the statue with the missing hands.

Talk with Mr. Russet at North Yard completely. Then you can exit the area and start the next part of Day 2.

Sorry Bert, i thought you couldn't leave the church building not the church yard. Hope you make it...

Well, got my stuff and am trying to move around and get pics, etc. I see you guys have talked about a church. Where is it? I went down to the tide pools but no excitement there. Is there suppose to be something I can do there also?

There are 2 churches. You can find them only after you do a puzzle or a trigger. It will be later in the game if you're only at the Tidal pool.
Yes, there is activity at the tidal pool. Don't you see a light? Are inside the cave?
