I don't remember that, can they feed on you? I think I will try to play some today and catch up to you. I do remember that I had to dole blood out to him cause he would drink it all up. Don't bother spending for his clothes and stuff, you will see later on that he isn't worth it. If he dies, use Awaken, or leave him there and fight on your own. Or send one of them ahead to scout, then go in and kill. I didn't like the tunnels either, dark and scary, but lots of treasure in there to grab.

I liked the game better as I got more into the modern times, cool clothes and better weapons.

Hi hawkavonpuka smile

I have two companions - Wilhelm and Serena.
Wilhelm fights quite well and Serena not so well yes

I don't think I would win as many fights without them though so my game could possibly come to rather an abrupt end if I don't look after them lol

And I've mostly clothed both from articles previously acquired - although not all.
I have treated them to a couple of things wink

Cheers.

Mad are you sure they won't feed? I had Wilhelm feed on the monks, you have to click on their picture to make them in the lead. Serena is supposed to have some sort of sense that will help sniff out the invisible things. Haven't played today yet so I am still on the Golem. I used to put her in the lead alot, bait I guess.

Did you use your experience points to up your feed? Barb said it is important so I have done so when I have enough. Barb is the guru of this game, hopefully I still have the save she sent me so long ago for the "end game" fight. It was wicked.

Hi smile

"Mad are you sure they won't feed? I had Wilhelm feed on the monks, you have to click on their picture to make them in the lead."

Well, I thought I had tried that but I will certainly have another go whistle

Yes, I have had Serena in the lead using her "heightened sense" thing but she seems to be a rather poor fighter as yet. All swings and roundabouts at the moment woozy

[The combat difficulty level seems to have shot up since I entered these tunnels .... I was doing SO well, before lol]

Good luck with the Golem !!

Cheers.

I have finally defeated the $#@%! Golem after two hours or so of trying. I was so relieved to finally see him crumble. Chris was dead so Eric did the final blows. So I delivered the chalice to Josef and quit for tonight. Serena is pretty useless for fighting, she hasn't enough strength to wield more than a dagger. If you find enough treasure you can always go back (either walking or Walk the Abyss) to sell/buy stuff. You of course don't get anymore experience points until you deliver the goods to the Prince. Yes, they all feed, I paid a little visit to the monks before I started this quest, we are all well fed for now. Did you go right or left into the tunnels, according to the w/t (one of them anyway) to the right is harder. Here is the one at GameBanshee that I used the first play, it is bookmarked right at the tunnels section. Redemption walkthrough

Hi hawkavonpuka smile

Neither Wilhelm or Serena have the "Feed" icon of the "mouth with fangs" in my game woozy

When resting back at The Haven to level up etc and the box comes up where points can be allocated, they do both have FEED in there and I have allocated points to it twice for both characters.
But when I go back to playing, the interactive icons on the bottom right don't show it as an option for either.
Only Christof has it eek
I wonder if there's a way to remedy that ??

In the tunnels I've no idea which path I'm on - I might have explored both lol
I retraced my steps back to Josef when I couldn't find the entrance to the second level but he had nothing to say to me so off I went, searching again.
That's why I could have done both routes, if that's possible ....

My current save is just as I am about to enter the second level - which at last I have found !!

You will soon be waaaay past me, I can see. So GOOD !! I'll be able to ask you for tips rotfl

Cheers.

And I'm about to finish Avencast and plan on loading it up too!

I remember the feed thing with my Coterie didn't seem to do much until much later in the game when I would all of a sudden see them feeding on something. Can't remember for sure.

Mad, click on each characters head, then open the disciplines panel. Drag the feed icon down to the quick slots, there you will be able to move them around to place whichever one you want first in the larger slot. If feed is in the large slot, they will automatically do that when the urge comes. Or you can force them to feed by highlighting the icon then right click on the target. It is sorta hard to do in battle, they grab and miss alot. If you have Blood Heal in the large slot, the others will heal themselves when needed. Hopefully.

I am still in the first level of the tunnels, I clean them out, then go back and recheck, saving all the while. There are switches to open the doors, some are hard to see. I just opened one and I see lots of critters in there, am planning to send someone in first to lure, then go back and regroup. I couldn't remember how to do that so had to come out and look. It is the green buttons next to the health/blood bars, then the arrows thing to regroup. You should practice this now because later in the game it will be needed. I promise not to get too far ahead of you, if Draclvr pops in, she will be a big help to both of us having played this more recently.

Hi hawkavonpuka thumbsup

Thanks for that info !! Done it now grin

I am finding these tunnels the hardest area so far but I too check a lot and I go back to The Haven periodically to "visit the monks evil" or use a few points if I think I need to whistle

[I will also give that "luring" a try then. Thanks.]

BTW. Did you get my email ??

Cheers.

Just answered your email Mad. Give the rats to Serena and Wil to feed off of too, will give you more space in your inventory. If you ever get desperate for blood, you can feed off of your group too. I spent the last of my gold on blood at Unorna's shop before heading down to Noseratuville.

So is that you sucking my precious blood? I have a feeling that I may be stuck in the same place as you now. I am in tunnels 2 and right around the corner (through a narrow opening) are 4 of those uglies. I have trying all sorts of tactics to beat them for quite some time now. Had to turn feed off cause my coterie and I were feeding on each other. I have been trying to get them out one at a time, but they all come. I know I got through this before on a much slower computer, but boy is this frustrating. Maybe I need to try running for that large open room. I see what you mean about no help, if I have them on defensive, they just stand there and on offensive, they run amuck. I sure don't remember it being like this. Arrrghh!!

Hi smile

I finally made it out of the tunnels !! bravo

All the way through them I had Serena on "heightened senses", Wilhelm using CLAW hands and Christoph on "potence"(?) - if that's how to spell it.

That combination seemed to work quite well for me ....

With the "horrible four" you mention I gave up trying tactics after several futile efforts and just waded in with all my party and eventually got the better of them slapforehead

Good Luck !!!! And see you after another session later grin

Cheers.

And I finally beat Morgath in Avencast last night! Now THAT was a battle! So hopefully I will be joining the two of you later this week. I have to try to remember that I have to install this game in Safe Mode....

Draclvr will catch up real fast Mad, she is a whiz at the game. I finally got past the horrid four, went up through the shortcut. Pumped up the goup a bit and sold stuff and bought blood. Of course had to take a little visit to the monastery, thanks for leaving some. Through the labyrinth and now on level 3, already died once. When one in the group dies, I always reload as I don't like to have the issue of having to bring them back and reload their blood. Serena died with the four, that is why I needed to restock. I don't let either of them carry more than one flask as they are soooo greedy. What weapons are your coterie carrying, I switch mine alot and sell off the weaker stuff. Serena now is carrying a long blade, I gave Christophs to her, she does better. I hope to finish the tunnels today, I think it is the Chantry next, saw that the pharmacy was locked.

A whiz? I think not! I feel like a slug! I think I've played this game 4 times and I'm having a very hard time getting used to the interface again. Maybe it has to do with just coming out of The Witcher, Prey and Avencast!

I'm just about to do battle with the big, bad vamp down in the mines. I forgot to install the patch so I could save whenever I needed to, so got out so I could install it. When I went to load, I found a zillion saves from all my other games!

I hope to try to catch up to you two soon. I forgot how much I love the "thees and thous" in this game! Anezka, my love!

Hi smile

Haven't had chance to play since my last post shocked so no progress to report !!

At the moment, Christoph has a two handed sword and no shield, Wilhelm and Serena both have slightly less potent swords but do have shields.

I mostly sell off any weapons and armour that show lower stats than those my characters are actually wielding - although sometimes I have kept one in reserve in case another member got added to the team.
Depends how low my funds are at the time grin

Well, maybe we'll all bump into each other somewhere along the line .... I'll scream first scared ....

See Ya !! lol lol

Cheers.

Took me forever too Drac, I even died in the beginning of the mines, I want him to swing faster and harder. I have just started in the Chantry and forgot how difficult the Tremeres could be. They just killed off Serena so I will reload that one tomorrow. I found some weapons right away, so since I didn't have inventory space I went back to sell them. I do the same with my weapons, must upgrade. Chris and Wil both have the two-handed weapons, Serena has a Falchion and shield, I really need to go and buy her a helm.

Well, I am in the Chantry area now .... Nuff said ?? whistle

And am just about to descend to a lower level - having managed the initial one - which was was pretty difficult eek

Have been successful with "luring" sometimes but otherwise I have just charged all my characters in together and risked the lot devil

[Needless to say those poor monks at the Monastary are getting plenty of visits. It's a wonder they are not all totally bloodless by now lol]

Cheers.
