I finally got a new video card and am now able to begin again on this game. I printed out the walkthrough, but don't want to look at it just yet. I have talked to the head lady in her office, and the lady sitting near the water. The men down by the water, and I did see the 2 people in the water. I also built the blind, walked near the 2 people talking and listened in to their conversation. I did go near that place that has the statue and well on the outside, went inside and, of course, can't move that round stone. Also talked to the bartender. Now when I go back to people, no one wants to talk to me. I did go down to where the boat comes back and when I pick up the phone no one is answering. I seem to be an impasse and need a nudge. Thanks.

Have you been to the tower above the guest rooms on the second floor?
It is located at the end of the hallway.
Also there's another (rocky) beach on the side of the hotel.

I have been to all the beaches. Haven't been to the tower. Thought I had opened all the doors (that weren't locked), but missed this one. Thanks MaG.

That was a good idea, but unfortunately, I had been there before. There is a rope across it and when I clicked on it, he said something to the effect that it wasn't pertinent at this time. Tried to find something I hadn't done before (found one thing - hadn't looked at the guestbook), but that didn't change the fact that still no one is talking to me. Still not giving up - trying not to look at that walkthrough.

This is the tower that you get by climbing the stairs.
I think you missed something.
Did you check the shed at the beach?

If you're talking about the stairs inside, yes those are the ones that have the rope across, they look like metal stairs. If there are stairs outside to the hotel, will have to look for those. I wanted to check the shed at the beach because I'm sure there is something in there that I can use, but the guy keeps saying he's the only one that can get in there.

Buterfly you'll also have to wait until the guy on the beach isn't there.....then steal whatever you can get your hands on!

Yes, I've gone back to the office, but she's still there. Yep, know I have to wait until that guy is gone before I'll be able to get into that shed. I'm just at a standstill, so think I'm going to have to break down and look at the walkthrough. Thanks ladies.

I think I'm going to have to start over. Have looked at the walkthrough at the beginning and I have in my inventory: coins, blank typing paper, empty bottle, Seadrift brochure, empty glass, motor magazine and chicken feathers. It talks about picking up a rock outside the door that goes to the reception desk and I don't have that, but am thinking I used that rock and another one, along with the cord to make the blind. I don't remember talking to Christine Redfern on the lounge chair or seeing the red sailboat. I do have info regarding the two threatening letters. I should be done with Act I, but certainly have missed something. Unless someone can think of something, I'm going to start all over (which really isn't too far). Thanks.

Butterfly.

Yes, those 2 rocks-stones are for the blind.
The red sail boat is in Act 2 not Act 1, when you use the binoculars.

Check Act 1 only of the wallthrough and see what you missed.
Walk around until you have talked to all the characters.
Christine should be sitting just in front of the ladder going down to the bathing beach.

I have checked the walkthrough - Act 1 and tried to see what I missed. In your walkthrough, you mention on page 4 about a red sailboat steered by Howard Blatt. You also mention that Christine is sitting on a lounge chair overlooking the sea in front of the deck of the Bathing Beach, but I have been down there at least 3 times and unless I have already spoken to her and don't remember, there are only 2 men there - one the keeper of the shed and a gentleman to the right. Neither of them want to talk to Poirot any more (along with all the others). I have been back to the blind, over to the ruined monastery, to the tennis court, talked to Mrs. Castle, the bartender, the maid on 2nd floor, the lady in the dining room, the young lady (think the ballet teacher)sitting on the rocky area near water, to Kenneth Marshall and his wife, the couple that he eavesdropped on, and others. I don't remember talking to John North standing in front of the pub (WT). He's not there now. If I have missed talking to other people, have no idea where they are, all rooms where they are staying are locked. Hope this helps.

Butterfly until you can get into the tower, you won't be able to get binoculars or see a sailboat.
Have you checked your journal to see if alibis and evidence have been checked off?
You can always click on Poirot's picture and use the finger of suspicion to see what you might have missed.

Ah - when you talk to Christine, she will mention the red sailboat and you have not talked to her yet.
Yes - you need to use the binocular at the tower to see the red sailboat.

Well, I started all over. Went by the book with the walkthrough. For one thing, I probably did not pick up everything from his office when I first started. The first time around I did not talk with the guy in front of the pub. But when I went down that pathway (the first time) he was not there. I spoke to Christine and this time did not start at the very top of the conversations, so there was a scene I had not previously seen before - one is the sailboat. Now unless there are two sailboats in this game, Mr. Blatt is steering this one. (The rope is still in front of the spiral stairs and Poirot said it wasn't necessary at this time to go up those stairs), so I still don't have the binoculars. I finished the first Act and the WT says I would be automatically back in Poirot's office - I waited but nothing happened, so I clicked on the picture and went back. After Hastings and Poirot talked, I clicked on the picture again and was back to the hotel and it said I would automatically be back in Poirot's room - I wasn't. Gladys would not talk to me - gossip she said, and there were no towels in the bathroom and no cleaning cart. I did check the guestbook, but that's about it - didn't see anything about alibis. What in the world am I doing wrong? Thanks MaG and Sue.

Go to Poirot's office and ask the finger of suspicion what you might have missed.
This is after you checked the documents as to tasks, characters to talk to documents to be read and check inventory you picked up.

I am in Act 5, the letter of regret. I have put that letter together many times and it still will not merge. What am I doing wrong?

welcome kayelou,

Double check that the design of the edges are correct,
the words are aligned and the edges of the torn papers are touching. luck
You can double check with the picture in the wt and see what the differences are. That might help.

Hello. Happy Easter! :easter:
I'm not sure where I am. I have gotten the luminescent coat and gone back to the hotel. No one was outside so I've now gone back through all of the rooms (all are open on the inside of the hotel). I found Linda's watch, stick pin ,the burned fabric and hair this go round and she has appeared in her room. I would like to get the sketch from Mrs. Redfern but can't find her or anyone else. What do I need to do to make the rest of the characters show up? Thanks!

Terri,

You're in Act 4.
Have you checked Sanctuary Cove to see if she is on the deck?
Can you check if the car you repaired is still in the garage.

Hi. The car is still in the garage. I think I have checked everywhere. It seems that I've been deserted.

That is a glitch. See if you can replay before doing the car and repair it on your way out of town and not before you go into town.
