Hi, I am in the church and have the camcorder done and the picture was taken on the table - I looked at the coat of arms and then the tomb but cannot seem to get that recording. It records but never shows up in my inventory. (Yes, I got the one in the pew) Just can't seem to get the arms. Tried thrice and came here to ask.

linda do you mean the stone with the two ladies and the coat of arms? If so there is no recording to do there. After the pews the next is on the statue and the other on the stone in front of the sanctuary with names carved on it...

No, I mean the effigy of Gurney, without hands. I used the camcorder and saw the orbs and then used the recorder and it is recording but never seems to end and I cannot find it in my inventory. I heard the camera at the door take a picture and I got it but I still cannot get a recording over Gurney.

It's on the wall beside the wooden door... Anyway in that case i can't help you... Sorry... Maybe (just guessing) you should click on the hands first? But it doesn't make any sense...

That's okay if you don't get a recording during the day. It will repeat at night when you come back. Then you should have a recording.

I wasn't able to get the recording over Gurney, but over at the rood screen where they have the names of the former vicars. Use your video camera on that wall and also use the recorder. You should be able to get the "hands" recording there.

Good idea but it didn't help, anyway.

I Just can't figure what I can be missing and I don't want to go to far from this spot until I can get the recording. I even re-checked to see that I did put in the new patch so it shouldn't be that either.

Just wondered: Misa and Linda - did you patch your games?
I didn't and got my recording on the tomb.

I got my recording by the rood screen with the list of vicars names also, didn't get it on the tomb. Also in the musuem I never got the recording on the helmet.

I also get my recording there... The statue recording can be taken on the Rector-Rood board? I think i get another recording there... Maybe Misa and Linda actually took the Rector-Rood board recording and not the tomb recording?

Well, like Misa said, I did hear "he took my hands" but only at the rood screen. I used the recorder and the emh thingie and there was activity but nothing registered, ie going into my inventory or Nigel saying he had to listen to the recording.

I have made it to the spot back at the museum and Nigel did say he was done at the church so I am hoping I have accomplished all I was supposed to.

Yes, I played/am playing only on a patched game. Like Linda, I had expected to get a recording over Gurney because the recorder seemed like it was picking something up but the recording only happened at the rood screen.

If Nigel was able to leave the entire church area, then you're done there for now Linda.

Ok, in the museum - was I supposed to hear anything by the helmet? I have wandered through and heard the closing warning but nothing by the helmet

I never enjoyed reading so much as in this game. So much history!

You can hear a 'here'. Just use the recorder and EMF on the helmet and read the sign. I don't think you'll get a tape though.

I don't remember if I used or tried anything on the helmet but in the patched game, once I got the "museum is closing" message from Oogle, it meant I was done there so I was able to leave the museum.

I am also in the church (during the day) I have done everything I am suppose to do but cannot go anywhere in the church except the table Nigel says he needs to make sure he isn't interrupted...so I try to go out of cemetary and Nigel says he should make sure he investigates everything...urrg. I went back and did everything in the walkthrough. Now what?

Are you playing with a patched game? In your inventory, did you get the Gurney recording where he says "they took my hands"?

If you're playing with a patched game, the recording is taking at the rood screen where they list all the names of the former vicars.

Seems that if you are not playing with a patched game, the recording happens over Gurney's statue/tomb/thing.

Thanks alot Misa, yes I am playing with a patched game and was missing a page of the walkthrough (finally printed one because I was using it so much) . Found the Gurney recording!

Have fun with the game! It's fantastic, just finished it yesterday.

I am at the church at night and looking for the plants - got the Ivy and the Nightshade but don't understand the directions to "dog leg" to the back of the church. I can't seem to get around the church so it must have something to do with "dog leg".

Please explain Does this mean I must enter the cemetery in order to go around the church?

I am at the butterfly room and have been going in circles. Please help?

Check the museum map and see where they are located.
If you are in the butterfly room, go right from the video room (or right on the hallway at top of the screen) and be in another room. The 3 kings and the grill on the wall is in that room.
