I am at the point of finding footprints just before the main stairs and am supposed to use the magnifying glass and tape to measure them. Where do I find the glass and tape? They are not in my inventory and haven't seen them thus far in game. Have I missed something?

Marilyn click on any of the footprints and they tape measure and magnifying glass should be in the lower left hand corner of your screen, not if your inventory.

Sometimes you do have to be in the correct spot and the games are picky about evidence.
