Hi I too have paid more than that already - AND in advance - for the full season of downloads - and was told the CD version would be sent to me (after I had downloaded the last episode of the season) at no extra cost other than the shipping This is bad and I am NOT pleased !! Cheers. Mad

Telltale site: Buying the entire season gets you access to each episode as soon as it comes out on Telltale's site (we'll send you an email to let you know it's available). Soon after episode 6 launches, you can get a disk version of Season 1 for the price of shipping. (You don't pay for shipping until then.) Remember, there will be six episodes in Season 1, which means buying the whole season up front will save you almost $20 over buying them individually for $8.95 a piece.
The cost is $34.95 for the whole season.

Hey guys, Nothing has changed - a disk version will be sent to Season 1 customers who want it for just the price of shipping. It will not be exactly the same as TAC's version, but it will not be some CD in a paper sleeve either. We're going to make it nice. More details to follow on Telltale's website, maybe as soon as this week.

I am just so excited to have the opportunity to purchase a boxed version. Because of my strong stance on downloading, I would have never had the opportunity to play the game had it not been released retail. I understand Mad's feelings. I would also have been mad. No pun intended.

Hi fov I agree that it is good to have gained outlet via The Adventure Company and that the games will now be available to a wider public .... BUT for those of us who supported the project from the start and paid up front for the whole season ("on trust" that all the paid for episodes would actually happen) I feel it is a raw deal that later comers who have taken no risks will have the benefit of a better price Cheers. I'm not so sure I agree with that.
My two cents--and they really are mine, and a pretty good bargain at only two pennies--go like this:
Yes, those who bought the game online will have paid somewhat more than those who buy the pre-order now. (Which does NOT necessarily mean that the final retail price will be lower--Gamestop often lowers pre-release prices to make them more enticing and to offset the long wait involved.)
BUT early adopters got to download and play each episode as it was released, AND they will be able to get a boxed copy for the price of shipping.
By contrast, those who have waited for the retail release still have a lot of waiting to do: Gamestop lists the release date as 8/28/07, which is over four months from now, and something like nine months after the release of the first episode .
This isn't much different from any other game: a game which cost $49.99 nine months ago seldom sells for more than $29.99 now. The higher price matches the demand for a new game: as the game becomes older, the price drops to compensate for the lower demand.
So I think the early-adopters got a pretty good deal: the ability to play the game "early," plus a "real" copy later on. In fact, although I haven't purchased any of the episodes yet, I still intend to purchase the online version as soon as I've scraped up enough money. Why? Because I'm probably not patient enough to wait until August.
The only people I think got a comparatively bad deal are those who bought all six episodes individually: in addition to paying around $54 for the set, they ALSO (apparently) won't be able to get a hard copy of the game--unless Telltale decides to change their rules a little bit.
As for those who waited, the reward for their patience--and for Telltale's rather impressive work, community support, and apparent commercial success--is a new, lower price. Which should be grounds for celebration and praise, I think, not complaints.

Hi Demosthenes I browse Gamestop on a daily basis and I have never seen Gamestop put up a lower pre-order price to tempt people. IMO people who purchased the game on line did not necessarily get a bad deal but those who think they did their complaint is legit. According to Fov the version on-line purchasers will get will not be the TAC boxed version, however it was said it wont be just a disc in a paper sleeve. We will all have to wait and see. There are so many unpurchased games out there and games unplayed, waiting till Aug to get the game is of no problem to me what so ever.

Hi Demosthenes We will have to agree to differ I am sticking with the points I have already made in that I feel "let down" over this pricing policy after having shown faith and trust by pre-paying for all episodes - many of which were not even under development at the time of my payment And in my opinion, fair compensation would be EITHER no charge for shipping the disk version to me OR charge me for the shipping but send me the nice boxed version instead of just the disk

We already said you won't be getting "just the disk" -- remember, we're all longtime adventure fans too, and we don't like getting discs in lame paper sleeves any mroe than you do. Please, trust us on this one We're not out to cheat you or rip you off. I promise.
