If they(Programmers & Game Companies) ever have a Safecracker 3. I hope they will do away with the slider puzzle safes. For me they to hard to solve.

I love the thought of a Safecracker 3. I'm replaying Safecracker 2 right now (yes, you kick-started me off on that! ), and it really is a lot of fun. Some of those safes are ingenious. How far have you got with #2?

I love sliders, but the one in Safecracker 2006 was brutal. I do love the challenge of a good slider though. Ana

I know this is a older game Traitors Gate is a little like Safecracker. If you get it. It does work well with a faster computer and Windows XP. The only differences the game has safecracker tools. Which you have find in the sewer within the game.

For some reason I thought Traitors Gate was a Darkside game. Thanks for the recommendation.

That is Safecracker 2. Safecracker 1 was released in 1997. I haven't played #1, so can't tell you much about it, other than the game gives you an allotted amount of time to open all the safes, and if you run out of time then you are unable to finish the game.

I research games online before I buy one. I found SafeCracker 2 while looking for walkthroughs for Safecracker 1 and this other game came up. I was wondering if was the same game or not. It turn out it wasn't. So I went to Amazon.com and bought it.

I loved both games, but was more experienced for the second one and solved almost all of it on my own. My favorite puzzle was the wire box. I also loved the packaging for the second game. The metal case is very cool. Traitor's Gate 1 was an interesting game. I didn't like the timed bits, but the concept was intriguing, and I remember a lot of details in the game. You really felt that you were in the Tower of London. I never played the sequel due to the generally universal comments about stealth and timed bits. BTW, I have to say that I really like sliders (ducks under desk). The best one so far was in the Puzz 3D train (Orient Express). The Safecracker 2 one was also challenging because you couldn't reference a picture of what you were doing, plus, being letters, a few of the lines were very similar.

I agree, colpet, the packaging for Safecracker 2006 (the early edition metal case) is the best I've ever seen for a game.
I'm put off Traitors Gate a little by mention of timed sequences. Also I've read that there's a lot of wandering around in sewers? Don't fancy that much, Agon 4 was bad enough in that respect!

If you play Traitors Gate through there are safes to crack. I played Traitors Gate to the end. This game may not be similar to Safecracker 2006. But they are similar to Safecracker 2000. You have rooms to go through and safes to crack. You don't have to walk around in the sewer all day or night. The sewer is the only way to get to place to place and to the rooms. Don't knock until you tried it. ------------ Traitors Gate the story may not be same as both Safecrackers games. If you played it before and didn't like walking around and around in the sewers and got lost. That means you didn't go online and download Traitors Gate map of the sewers. You don't walk around in the sewers all the time. You do get to walk around up top after you exit the sewer. Believe it or not there are safes in the game. Plus you get some way cool safecracking tools. After you find a hidden back pack of goodies in the sewer. The map shows where the pack of goodies and where the exits are. If and when you download the map you might enjoy the game.

My experience was similar. I liked both games a lot, but while the first Safecracker kicked me around in a number of spots, the second Safecracker went a lot better for me and I think I got through without help except on one puzzle.

Safecracker, I'm sure some other gamers agrees that TG1 is a good game. I liked it too. But each gamer differes. I'm sure if they find the game available, they will get it. Please use the edit button so that you don't stack postings. Any little help from the posters is appreciated.

You may have trouble running Safecracker1 with a fast modern computer. You cannot control scrolling through the inventory. ---------------------------------------------------------- Traitors Gate2 is also very good.It has an Egyptian tomb type of theme.
