I emailed frogwares about the "no timer" patch twice now, but both emails came back rejected as Spam frown
Any advice?

If you have any hints you need post in the hints thread and we'll do our best to help.

Glad you are on your way again menahune and Raton! yay

Dizzy, we get an email for every post you do. You will not be ignored, just making our way through. Please do not post the same request more than once, it just takes up unnecessary room on the board. Check your email in a minute please.

Silly me, I uninstalled the game and reinstalled from BFG thinking it would have the timer part fixed. Fortunatley I wasn't very far in the game and so now I have emailed frogwares and am patiently lol waiting for the patch. They have been great responding to all of us here.

Thank goodness, after an hour or more of trying to install the patch on Vista, I did it yay

These puzzles are so interesting, that you must be really really clever to do them in the time limit of 30 mins. Especially since some reset randomly so you can't memorize them.

It is so much more enjoyable without the time limit. happydance Now I don't use the hints at all, whereas before I would use the hints just to save time.

Hi All, I e-mailed Frogwares for the timer patch yesterday morning (5/13). Nothing in my e-mail this morning. Any idea how long it's taking. I'm stuck on level 5. Thanks Lillian

lilkim, have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes their mail gets hung up as spam.

I would try emailing them again as well. I would send you mine, but it'll have to wait till I get home from work.

I'm heading off to find frogwares and email them for the patch.

How wonderful is it that a gaming company will listen to their customers and build a patch so fast? They are awesome!

Lola, the winrar site is to download the program to unzip the patch so it can be installed.

You will need both a program to extract .rar files and the patch file which will be on a different site. luck

That link is the one for .rar file extractor in case you do not have one. The link above that is for the patch.

EDIT: Too slow... lol Hi L4L.

Thanks Cadet, I have received the patch information. Problem, I'm a computer dummy. I'm way before their time . 79 and no grandkids to show me how. 1) don't know which zip file to download there are several. 2) not sure how to work it when I get it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks again Lillian

Does this help lilkim?

Opened the ......\Sherlock Holmes - The Mystery of the Persian Carpet folder.
Pasted the inside 001 folder in that Persian carpet folder.
Played the game.

There are now 2 possible ways for you to go through:
1. If you select New Game - you automatically get a choice of timed or untimed when you click New GAme.
2. If you open an old game.
- See the Main Menu.
- You will see OPTIONS. Select Options on the right side.
- Then Select Play untimed. Accept or Back.
- Then back on the Main Menu, select Resume.
- Select a place to go to in the map and you will see that the timer is set at 00:00.
- Play a bit and then exit as usual.

Also, if you read the thread you csn see how others solved their problems. I believe it was said the download is the upper left one. duh
