I think I'm on the third day and after folowing the wolf tracks to McQuade's shack, I returned to the lodge but did not get any note. Also, there was no rug by Ollie's workbench and no piece of paper by Yanni. Also, when I housecleaned, I couldn't separate the washcloths out from each room. All towels and washcloths went into the laundry bag.

It sounds like that you did not do everything in the shack.
Read the journal you found there and click on everything. Click on wolf too.

I've gone back to the shack and looked around. I had picked up the 2 toasty packs. I've commanded Isis to bark and paw. I looked at the bone key on the wall. I did check out the diary but it won't go into inventory. What now?

maxcat, have you fully read the notebook taken from the crater? Inside the shack, have you picked up the strange object with the telephone number imprinted on it?

Erica, I only have a Sr save for that. But MaG or TLC has a Jr one, and I'm sure they will see this soon.

Maxcat,

Please read the walkthrough to see what you have missed.

To get the towels you have to know that someone stole the bones and you want Isis to check them (after finding out that she knows how to do that).
Have you checked the display in front of the dining room already?

yes and read the notebook. This is my second time through the game as I did not do something. I never got the full amount of phone numbers in the journal. I can't call Carl, Farington and Derek. But I did get the note from someone who wants to see me in the sauna and I did see Yanni's note on the floor.

Got through all that fortunately. I'm working on getting into Trapper Dan's needle. I've done the pyramid and retrieved his journal and have the raccoon disk. The moose's eyes won't cooperate. Is it because I haven't played the fox and geese game? Idon't recall it being mentioned in the walkthrough.

Check the compartment right of the moose head. Click on it and hopefully Nancy will say something.
Then try to poke the moose eyes and see what happens.

The fox -geese can be done later after you enter the gave through the door with the bone at the shack.

Hi maxcat,

The compartment is in the wall, to the right of the moose. smile
