MaG-
Is that the second that you sent me? If not would you mind trying one more time? I am running Vista as well.

Thanks, Jerry

Ok I KNOW this is something I am missing but I just got back to the game after getting the frying pan and the 2 parents are not fighting so that I can get to Shari....??? is there another way to trigger it? I am walking around talking to everyone again, not working.

She did not follow the walkthrough - so see if you can get the cup and then see the mother. Go from there.

Nope the cup is already gone and it must have already been given to the mother because she is not on the Veranda anymore.

Did you check the inventory for the cup? Since you are using a save maybe the cup is already there.

Well phooey, let's see what else we can come up with.......did you talk at length to Mr. Gopesh? Did you talk to Vincent? Did you go through the wedding dress sequence? Since you are using someone else's save you may have to backtrack a little in case their play differs from yours.

yes I just replayed everything. It's weird because when I try to replay the game from an earlier save the frying pan is not there BUT I can go past the 2 fighting parents to get to Shari.
after getting the frying pan (on this saved game) I cannot do anything but talk to Vincent or Montgomery. I am just stuck in the upper Village.

With different people in different puzzles in the same thread I tend to get a bit confused as to who needs what BUT did you go back and change clothes to the Pirate garb before going after Shari with the Frying Pan? laugh

EDIT1:
Assuming you have it.
Told you it was confusing. laugh

EDIT2:
Guess you did IF you have it.
I'll quit now.

I didn't do it......and if I did I'm not guilty!

If you are using My saved game, I dont think I did the costume thingie with Vincent yet. Look for the costume in the inventory. I did not follow the walkthrough so you may have to redo parts.

Thanks to all-
I'm finally past the frying pan-apparently xp saves don't work with Vista and I assume vice versa as well.

Yay yay

Probably true but was it a save that got you past your problem or something not yet done? Knowing the answer to this might help someone else down the line. laugh

FINALLY!!! Kay you told me to go back over everything and I assumed since Mr. Gopesh was already guarding Shari and because I couldn't get into pharmacy everything was done...when I replayed I could get into the pharmacy and the wedding dress part had NOT been done.Fianlly got to play with the frying pan:} Thanks Alot.

Billybob,

My version was missing the frying pan. MaG had emailed a couple of saves with the pan but they kicked me out of the game when I tried to use them. Turns out they were XP and I'm on Vista. When I got a Vista save, it did the trick. (if you're interested in the whole story- look thru the past couple of days on this thread) When and if I hear from 10tacle or Strategy First I'll let you all know.

Jerry

Glad you got past your problem. Looks like we all have another, though; VISTA versus XP saves. I guess we will have to start telling which we're using when we need help from now on. laugh

Always interested in the whole story. I try to understand these things so I don't have to ask the same questions that have already been asked when I get into trouble. Doesn't always work, of course.

betty,

Be sure that you have:
Looked at both the turpentine and cleanser bottle first.
Then that you have talked completely with the manager about the star.
That you have tried to go up the stairs.
Have looked at the star.
