Uncover the Origin of the World’s First VampireThe Adventure Company, the number one brand for PC adventure game sales worldwide, today announced Dracula: Origin for Windows® has shipped to retail stores across North America.
“We’ve partnered once again with the talented teams at Focus Home Interactive and Frogwares Studios, creators of our recently released title, Sherlock Holmes: Nemesis, and are thrilled to bring another quality title to adventure gamers,” said Byron Gaum, Global Product Marketing Manager at The Adventure Company.
In the game, you play the role of Professor Van Helsing, the celebrated vampire hunter, on the hunt for Dracula, while Dracula himself is on a quest for a mysterious manuscript which will give him the power to raise the dead. Your goal is to prevent Dracula from finding and using this manuscript, but also to kill him, in order to liberate the souls of all those who have had the misfortune to cross his path.
Using conventional Point & Click gameplay, Dracula: Origin is a superb adventure supported by impeccable graphics and a rich storyline which takes you to London, Egypt, Austria, and of course to Transylvania, the famous home of the great vampire. Me too, my first pre-order.
The only thing that worries me is that if this is about how and why Dracula became a vampire then the game isn't going to have a happy ending. Van Helsing must fail right?

I pre-ordered this game at Amazon with the shipping date end of May. Yesterday I got email from them about the delay to 06/19 - 07/08/2008. What's with shipping this game to stores now? I don't understand. I'd better order it at Interact...
Why resist temptation? There will always be more. Don Herold.

Springchicken -- Amazon has frequently done this in the past with games, changing delivery dates at the last minute. Often the new release dates are wrong, and customers get the game sooner than the later release dates that Amazon has just told them. Other times, though, Amazon does ship the game later than other distributors.
It's confusing, I agree, and it has lost them customers in the past. It seems to be a problem that Amazon has with games but not so much with books -- I have no clue as to why, though.
