Hello everyone, hope everybody is keeping warm and dry.
Not sure if this is the right area for this I hope so.
Ok, what would you say was your all time favorite Game Movie. Mine was Silent Hill and Resident Evil 2. Not too sure if Alien vs. Predator belongs here or not, given the fact that Alien and Predator were both movies before they were games. What do you think.

Starlight, I am going to move this to the DarkSide since most "game" movies are of that nature. Ana

Totally agree with Silent Hill! Best game movie ever bar none. One freakout of a movie with one grossout of an ending.

Hi Starlite! Dry but freezing - how bout you? I really liked the Predator movie, but it wasn't like the game, was it? (I don't know, didn't play the game). A while back on the adventure forum, we had fun choosing who we would have play the roles if they made a movie of "The Longest Journey". Depp for Crow.

Hello everyone, sorry BET I wasn't sure where that topic belonged, I guess I should have asked first.
We're getting another snow storm here again today. Hope we don't lose power like TO did.
Silent Hill was pretty gory, it had quite the atmosphere to it. I hope the sequel will be as good or better.
Alien, Predator and AvP games were more shoot em ups. Don't care for shooting games. I wish they would make more game movies, although I didn't care too much for the Doom movie. Rock was pretty good. I like him in movies. Johnny Depp would be perfect in any game/movie.

I wish they would make Realms of the Haunting a movie. With the right actors and director, that could become so good...or better yet, a book!

Realms of the Haunting was a good game. I would have thought they would make a sequel to that one. I'm looking forward to the next Silent Hill, Resident Evil and AvP movies.
The new Predator is going to be interesting.

No, sorry I meant a new Predator creature. I'm guessing the way they left the ending of Alien vs. Predator movie that there would be a sequel, there has to be, there better be. Update, looks like there's a part two due this year: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0758730/

Drizzt, are you talking about the second AvP or Predator? Not sure. I didn't care for the second Predator.
I didn't know they made a Tombraider 2. I didn't see the first, I'll have to check it out sometime.

I like Silent Hill, I have it on Blu Ray
I don't really love the first RE, but I do like the second one MUCH more. I have both on DVD.
Any adaptation not made by Uwe Boll is a friend of mine....except for Doom.

I am talking about the Aliens vs. Predator movie. The first two Alien movies are masterpieces, and I really enjoy the first Predator movie as well...don't really like the other ones, though.

The thing I didn't like about AvP was it took too long to get to the entrance of the Pyramid. They could have done without that and put more action in there.
I forgot about HitchHiker's Guide To The Galaxy, wasn't that both a game and movie? I wonder if Neuromancer would make a good movie.

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was first and foremost a book by Douglas Adams...which then turned into a game and finally a movie. The book was hilarious, and is warmly recommended.

Personally I was going to say that there haven't BEEN any good video game-based movies, but then I remembered: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest was an excellent adaptation of Monkey Island, although they did stray pretty far from the source material in some parts. But that probably doesn't count, since Monkey Island drew much of its inspiration from the Disneyland ride the movie was also based on...

Uh, Demosthenes? Hitchhiker was a good one. Then there's also Blade Runner (though as typical, the game was better than the movie).

Oh right nickie, I forgot about Blade Runner. I still have that game. I loved that game, actually I liked the movie too. I love Rutger Hauer. Actually I played the game before I seen the movie.

I thought it was a really, really good game. One of the few I have ever played that made me sit and think about it afterwards, and ponder if my choices were the correct ones.

The game better than the movie? What is this heresy I hear? The game was great, but the movie is just...cult, and unbeatable in terms of anything cyberpunk, I think.
