Sorry if I have posted this to the wrong place (I am old, new and confused)

I have reached the Director's Office and Holmes asks for the map. I have looked at walkthroughs and it seems that the map of London should open from the inventory. All I get is a sound and no map. I think I have done everything up to this point and am unable to leave the Director's office so I assume I am correct up to this point.

Hi BobS, to GameBoomers!

If you look at your inventory you will see there is a tab at the bottom for Map. Click on this, and it will take you to all the maps that you have access to. Across the top of this section you will see separate tabs for each individual map, and the map of London should be amongst these. Click on the tab and you'll see it straightaway. , let us know if you still need help.

Thank you, Unfortunatly the tab is where I get the noise as though something should happen but does not. I have previously used the map tab to get to the gallery but it does not work now.

Bob, are you close enough to a saved game that you can go back and replay this section?

I had saved it after completing the "jigsaw" with the paintings and have replayed it from that point but nothing changes, I have a horrible thought there might be a bug. Initially I had trouble restarting the game (now OK) when it kept asking for the original disk to be inserted.

Did you complete the quiz correctly? Have you exhausted all conversation with the Director, and did Watson bring you the letter with the next clue?

This is early enough in the game that I might be able to send you a saved game if you're unable to proceed. The files are large, but we might get away with it in this case. I'm not at my computer but will be able to take a look at the game later today. Please let me know if you would like a saved game after this section. We'll get you through it somehow.

I would appreciate a saved game. I have exhausted all conversations, I am not at my home computer (I keep trying to retire but they keep paying me), I am not sure about the letter, I assume that I got it or I would not have been asked for the map of London.

So sorry - I tried to e-mail your saved game to you twice, and it was returned as unsendable due to file size, despite being zipped.

Do you clearly remember Watson bringing you the letter with the clue referring to a black shadow? Perhaps you haven't hit the right trigger for the game to continue.

I have checked and Watson did bring the letter with the clue in it. It is in the documents tab so I definetly received it.

Bob, have you read the letter?

Yes many times in case it told me anything usefull. All I then get is Holmes asking Watson to get the map of London. I go into the map tab but all I get is a noise but no map.

Bob, I think I figured it out. The save's on its way, with fingers crossed. Let us know if you receive it ok.

Thank you for all your help, I have now received the save file, it is complete and I can view it as a jpg. As soon as I get home I will try it and find where it leads me.

Once again thanks for your help and understanding, if there is anything I can do for you let me know.

EDIT:-
I am now at home have loaded the save game and I am now in the Tower of London (In the game anyway).
Just to show how helpful and kind everyone has been here I have just received an e-mail from the the official support saying read the walkthrough on Gameboomers. [Not particularly helpful]
