I wonder how many of us has made friends and gaming buddies because of Game Boomers. I had a gaming buddy for over 10 years who lived near me. When she passed I was lost. Then I found another boomer who lives near me about 5 years ago and she revitalized my interest in the games again. Its so nice to have a group like this one, that can be relied on during the rough times not only in life but in our games. I am sure others have good memories to share on this subject.

I have met and see about 3 or 4 times a year, a Gameboomer who lives about 2 hours away from me, we exchange emails, telephone calls and enjoy each other when she can come in for the day. I appreciate having all my GB friends 'nearby' so long as my computer and internet connection are working well i'm never afraid to come here and shout for help or a shoulder to cry on if/when I need it - it's like you all live right next door or down the street from me. Thank God for Gameboomers and Mag for keeping it going. Love, Betty Lou

I have a friend who is living 1 hour away from my house and it's really nice when we're talking on the phone about games and particularly when we meet we argue about games that liked/disliked. Moreover here in gb I like the free spirit and willingness of the members who try unprejudiced new games, genres etc.

Now that you mention it, this is a huge reason why I am so into GameBoomers. Never thought about this before. I don't know ANYONE who is a gamer. Well, my grandchildren who play action stuff I have never heard of. My friends all think I am nuts when I try to explain why I spend some part of every day into adventure and/or HOG games. So, I don't even tell them anymore. Having someone nearby who is into adventure gaming would be like having an interesting family member in your town to hang out with. Would sure brighten MY day!!!!! Maybe GameBoomers should introduce cell groups around the world.

I have a neighbor who is into Adventure games and we often discuss the various games we are curently playing. He is elderly and on a fixed income so I often pass along games that I have finished so he can also enjoy them. I recelntly got The Experiment for him to play after I complained so much about how hard it was for me to get into it. He is having a wonderful time playing it and that makes me feel good.

Hidden Object Games. They're casual, but takes a lot of ideas from adventure games nowadays. I don't really have any friends who play games. DH plays strategy and FPSes, but I'm really the only one person I know in town who plays point and click. :| GB is my communal point and click escape.
