Anyone here played this game?

The developers did an incredible, breakthrough job making a word spelling game into an pseudo-RPG complete with experience levelling, monsters, ability enhancing inventory items, monsters, bosses and a great story with at least two twists in the game and a great ending.

You can take your time to form long, impressive words as weapons to "attack" enemies. Because the battles are turn-based, you can refer to a dictionary. As an ex-English teacher, I found the game really fulfilling and challenging. I was fairly insulted, although mildly amused, however, when the scoring system gave me a C+ grade at the end.

I played it, can't remember my grade but did not have to resort to a dictionary.
I'll have to replay, cannot remember being disappointed with my score though.

I used the dictionary because I found that the game could accept certain words that I was not too familiar with. I wanted to check up what they mean before I used them in the game. In this way the game was intellectually challenging to me and I really enjoyed playing it. Also, some enemies were vulnerable to certain word categories like types of fruits/vegetables, and bone (for skeleton enemies). I liked to refer as the dictionary gave me a list of these items. There are two other categories like metal and colour that I don't need to refer.

I really enjoy the word challenges of this game but I cringe a little at the violence. When some of the monsters attack I actually wince. Maybe I’m too tender hearted. And the word Attack is used so much. Every time you create a word you have to “Attack” with it. It’s a fun game but I wish the challenges were based on something other than killing.

Does anyone else feel this way?

Hi ya LizzieK and welcome to GameBoomers.

I guess I must be getting jaded. It didn't bother me, but then I love whacking orc and bashing fairies wave

I love this game except that when you get to the end of the adventure mode, you can't go back and replay any of the levels... you have to either play the super-hard timed arena mode or start a new profile over from scratch.
