You are entitled to your opinion Ron, can't see why anyone would be bothered by it. I for one absolutely loved The Lost Crown and found it to be a darn near perfect adventure game, but that is just my opinion. If we all liked the same games, there would be no need for a variety. Ana

Hey Ron I respect your opinion, but i disagree of you. Lost crown is a masterpiece, a game with incredible history, the art design is wonderful in BW, effects and sound are great...for me is one of the best adventures of the last years. Love Maria

Don't know about it being the best adventure game in years, but it is a really good one. Tried playing Darkness Within. A depressing game. Was told 'Darkness Within', duh! The title says it for depressing'. Well, Crown is the same. mostly b/w, spooky, eeerie -- but, not depressing!! Same genre, whole different feel. I haven't finished yet (close), but yes! A really good, nice long game, robotic movements and all!
I really enjoy mornings. I just wish they came later in the day.

Hi Ron,
I am with you, I didnot like The Lost Crown at all. I think Dark Fall was the best ghost story of all. I thought it was a very scary story and a very good mystery too.

Three reasons it is one of my greatest games to play: substance, substance, substance.

Hi, Ron
While I do respect your opinion..I don't agree with it tho..
When a game can bring tears to my eyes ..That to me is a Great game !!! I also loved the black & white with a hint of background colors...That was different to me...The music was superb...I felt like I was in another world while playing the game..
While some will be disappointed that it wasn't a real creepy, spooky game...I thought the haunting of spirits was a touch of what really could happen in real life.
Sort of like a poltergeist type game.. :summer:

I felt like I was in another world while playing the game..
It's the only game i can't finish because i'm scared. I played Dark Fall which seems to be more scary according to many Boomers opinions. But Lost Crown made me feel exactly as you describe Darleen, it's like i'm Jonathan and i'm in the game...
Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free.

I am JUST FINISHING THis game havent finished it, and I have never wanted to RUN TO SOME PLACE any PLace and TALK and RAVE about this GAME it is on my top five, I also think its JUST Superb, I am so impressed with the way the STORY and gaming worked so well together, they finally have a time marches on game that WORKS WELL, and the Color is ARTISTIC, kind of like a Mixed media PIECE of ART, there was so much in this, I couldnt believe it, I loved DARKFALL BUT LOVED LOVED THIS GAME, I did notice what your talking about the jerkyness, but to me the over all characters were so well fleshed out, it didnt matter it seemed to be part of the time line, I loved the child Ghosts, of Timmy and the little girl in the church, and Emily, they were so sweet, and loved the interaction with the CATS, I guess I am a soft touch LOL I was so happy when mr tibbs was found alive ... and I am not even a great lover of Ghost stories, I loved it for the ART and amazing way it used the story to interact with all the puzzles, I am not finished, I thought it was REALLY Well laid out and thinking wow he put alot into this, and there is still more, LOL, this GUY IS A genius in my opinion in the ART of GAME Development. I also alot of our opinions come from what we want out of a game, I dont care as much for things like Voice acting or music, I love a GOOD STORY AND Great interactive puzzles this one gets a A+++++ for me, I usually like more puzzles less inventory stuff, but because the story was so good, did not matter, I havent finish, almost there, but dont think I will change my mind, if I do I will let ya know LOL... and that is just my two cents... :), Marcia

A like Chinese Food. B likes Japanese food. C likes Indian food. D likes Korean food. E likes Engligh food. F likes French food, and G likes American food. Games are like food for gamers. We can praise to high heaven a particular good meal (a game) we just enjoyed, but a few hours we will be hungry again and most likely for something else. Everyone's a critic these days, but what we should do is to encourage our friendly cooks (developers) with suggestions and fair and constructive criticism so that they could also grow with our tastes and improve their culinary (game making) skills to make better food (games) for us. Bon appetit and let us show love to our cooks (developers). Well said Benedict and I believe the "cooks" are trying to come up with "dishes" to please our various appetites. But like the camel, if you give a gamer an inch we want it all. linda
So many games, so little time.

I liked the game. But I didn't love it.

Loved both 'Dark Fall' games...loved 'Scratches'...absolutely loved 'Barrow Hill'...at this point, I'm thinking Jonathan Boakes is a genius. Loaded up and played 'Lost Crown', expecting the same breathless genius...and fell flat. Everyone has their own opinion of a game, which makes the world go round. I really had to force myself to finish this one. Sorry, guys, but 'The Lost Crown' did not do it for me. I had to struggle to play it through. Maybe I need to replay it to see what I missed...
Woohoo and booyah! Have an easy peasy day!

Sign me up on the list with zookeeper. I liked the game; and really enjoyed parts of it. However, it will never be on my list of greatest hits. It wound up being O.K.

You will feel less uncomfortable about the subject matter after Melinda Gorden of the show convinced you that there is a higher purpose for ghosts on earth that can interact with the living.
Do NOT watch any asian horror films, or American-made horror films based on asian horror films like "The Ring", "Shutter" or "The Eye" before you play this game. Well said, Benedict. I've never actually watched "The Ghost Whisperer" but I've had other experiences that have shown me that most ghosts are lost, confused souls - not horrible entities intent on terrorizing those of us on the physical plane. Doesn't mean that the adventure games don't make me jump about six feet in the air sometimes entering the crypt in The Lost Crown comes to mind immediately or put me on the edge of my seat but overall, having the above view on the spirit world makes these games much less scary.

I agree with the game has some flaws. By the end of the game I wanted to rip the clothes off of him because he hadn't changed them one time! I never could figure out the reasoning for not using colors throughout the entire game. I hope this won't be a new thing with game producers. I was so relieved just to see a blue sky. I hate endings that make me feel as though the last page of the book was ripped out. The things I loved about the game are the storyline about the ghost children, that would have made a great game in itself. I also loved the ghost busting equipment in the house. That was the best part of the game in my opinion using the computer video. The church was fun also only it would have been better if we could have spoken to more ghosts. I liked Jonathans voice and the other voices also. I also liked the way you couldn't leave an area until that area was done. We didn't have to go all the way back to town only to find out the graveyard wasn't finished. Jonathan in his wisdom let us know there was more to do in the area we were in. This is a nice touch in games. I hated the timed sequences in the graveyard opening that darn door in the church and running away from the dark mist. If I wanted to play an action game I would have bought one. Nearly gave up on that one part. I didn't enjoy the puzzles on the walls in the caves, or turning the monuments to find a location. The game that gave me the most chills and thrills is the first darkfall and blackstone chronicles was best of all. In the blackstone sanitarium speaking with ghosts tortured there and knowing that people were really treated so inhumane, really brought tears to my eyes. Not knowing what horror we would find in the next room, or what ghost would appear. If I could find a way to play it on my Vista I would love to play that again. In fact if someone would follow the outline of blackstone chronicles and add ghost busting equipment, WOW what a great game that would be. I hope Jonathan Boakes is listening to that idea. Another old game that gave me chills was Ambers journey, going from one ghost ridden room to another and finding a way to set the ghosts free. Wouldn't it be great if someone would update with state of the art graphics and sound the game santiarium? Getting back to Lost Crown, I still enjoyed it and I would buy it again. It wasn't a short game so I got alot of play out of it. Waiting patiently to see what Jonathan Boakes next game will be. Love the spooky stuff, not action stuff though. More interaction with ghosts and solving their past problems. It would be cool also to have random events that happen how that is possible I don't know. But for instance comparing which ghosts we saw in the game at what time. Wouldn't that be great? Just my opinion of lost crown and how the next could be better.

The lack of colors and the few colorful parts were the first think i noticed in this game and i liked it very much. I think it was brilliant. It was something different and i like to play different games styles from time to time. Also that short of picture gave to the game a more spooky and depresing sense which is good regarding a horror adventure game... Well that's only me...
