I have not looked forward to a game as much as Dreamfall...
first I waited for it to come out, when it did, I realized
I needed a new pc to play it, so I had to wait another year or so,
then I finally got new pc, started to play.....

and am SOOO disappointed!!!!

I HATE ACTION, and getting killed to restart the game, I have
blue tooth and it doesnt seem to work very fast...

I have asked for and received a few saved spots, from VERY HELPFUL gameboomers, then got to yet another confusing dying spot,
the underground where April needs to adjust the statues,

well AFTER ALL THAT WHINING (sorry),
I was soooooo looking forward
to a sequel to the longest journey sigh!!!!!

my questions, are....
do yall remember how many more timed dying sequences there are after this one?

you would not believe how long I have now had this on the shelf, April has been caught in the dungeon since Feb. frown
anyway
the other question is, is there a way to slow down the foes, or
make blue tooth act faster??

I just wish there werent timed sequences, and that I didnt have
to restart the game after dying, I really get distracted, I have ADD and just say FORGET IT LOL... anyway,

I loved this game and would like to try and finish it, as long as there isnt one timed sequence after another, hoping there isnt, THANKS For letting me Share my FRUSTRATION about this,
and in advance for any help smile

on the other hand,
just recently I have played one of the best games since, and its so good, I hadnt played one this Well written since Dreamfall, and Darkfall, just finishing "the Lost CROWN" WOW ITS AMAZING,
and not finishing it to fast, cause when its over its over LOL...

Marcia

I remember that Chapter 5 was the worst.

No and no. Best to plug in a wired mouse if your bluetooth mouse is the problem. Or use a gamepad.

I share your pain. frown

I never finished dreamfall. My April kept getting caught by the big troll thing and dying on the stairs.

One of these days I'll reinstall and finish it, but I think I'll wait til the sequel to Dreamfall is announced, then I'll make myself do it...

Thanks Guys, I will try and use a plugged in Mouse,
I appreciate the understanding... smile

Sally good to know I am not alone !! sequel, did you say Sequel, I hope so, even if its a pain, I loved the first especially even some of this, just HARD TO REMEMBER RIGHT NOW!
and hopefully if I can make it through this there is more fun with April and Zoe smile

>>Chapter Five was the Worst<<

WOW that is encouraging, I wondered how much game was left too, and
went and scrolled REALLY fast through the walk through, I still have more than half the game left if I can go by number of chapters, there are 13 in all, I am determined to finish this,
it will be good for that part of me that NEEDS to finish things right ;-)

thanks again,
Marcia

I bought Dreamfall and the graphics won't work. I was really disappointed, but after reading your comments HeavenlyJoy, I think I had a narrow escape. I hate games where you can die (I always get so involved I forget to Save) AND timed sequences. I have Lost Crown on UK pre-order, so you made me doubly happy.

If you play Tomb Raider Annniversary (TRA), then you will really learn the meaning of having to watch the character die, die and die, and then cause her to die, die and die again until youhave no feeling anymore (especially one of the Eqypt levels of TRA, where every corner you have to turn you have to cross a series of death traps). Try this - play a game where there is a RIDICULOUS amount of sudden deaths, like TRA, then play Dreamfall. Chapter 5 will be a blessing after this.

For chapter 5, just keep moving. Stay far, far away from the small troll. If he discovers you and run off to call the big one, run far, far away, preferably into one of the other 3 wings of the labyrinth or use a secret passage. The big one will not be able to find April.

My biggest problem in Dreamfall wasn't the troll. It was sneaking around that central core area and getting downstairs and through the door without being seen. It took me hours.

At least Tomb Raider Anniversary has a trainer that get rid of most of the sudden deaths for you, and it isn't the sequel to an adventure game. Dreamfall has no such thing.

Hi smile

I have to say I've been very disappointed by sequels where great stories have been ruined by the addition of many action/timed elements .... or the change from mouse to really poor keyboard control .... or even worse, the dreaded combination of BOTH sad

Dreamfall and the later Broken Swords for example both had sequels which as far as I'm concerned went down the same slippery slope and in doing so lost their true "Adventure" status.

On the other hand, the later Sherlock Holmes games have been vastly improved for me by the doing away with so much of that sort of thing bravo

So whilst losing out on some I have at least gained on others .... And as is so often said .... We can't all have everything we want all the time lol

Cheers.

I've already stated my opinion regarding Dreamfall in these forums. I was absoulutely stunned by the game. By it's depth, by it's integrity as a whole.
I agree, though, that the gaming isn't really suitable for us "adventurers". smile

There's definitely definitely definitely no logic to human behaviour.

Dreamfall and 80 Days were the 2 games I most looked forward to and couldn't play either of them. Thankfully lots of lesser anticipated games have more than made up for them.

So many games, so little time.
